Hi,
Thanks Jacob for this nice update :)

Some "B.R" :

1/ Undo function :
1 - Load a loop
2 - Lock it to loop on the first track
3 - Add a new track
4 - Lock to loop the same loop to the second track
5 - Undo
:?: The undo function, undoes the last 2 actions, instead of the last action.
--> By the way Ohm, is there a redo function planned for future versions of LiveSlice ?

2/ Parameter display :
1. when changing a parameter, lifting the LMB and clicking the same event again, the highlighting and parameter display doesn't work anymore unless you click again.
i think it should display on every mouse-down and stop displaying on mouse-up.
:?: Same 'problem' here...
--> My suggestion : will it be possible to always display the value for each track ? I.E. When we click on the Pitch button, the pitch values of each event is being displayed etc. The inconvenient with this method might be when you have a lot of events on the same track (as there is no zooming function available for tracks - yet  - the values could be quite difficult to read ?)

Last question before going liveslicing : Ohm, have you planned to include the sync F.R in the 1.4 final release ? (I.E. When you start or stop your host sequencer, it starts or stops LiveSlice internal sequencer)

Thanks again, keep on doing the good job :)

Was looking for a way to do this myself, if it isn't possible yet then gets my +1!

That would be okay.
some questions:
what do you mean by portamento and glide for CC's ?
what should the group of slices do?
Potamento would mean that if slice 1 is at C and slice 2 is at F, that the pitch would gradually increase over slice 2. Think of it like a tie on a 303 sequencer.

Glide on CC's would be the same. So if slice one had cc1 at 0 and slice 2 had cc1 at 127, the cc would not jump to 127 but ramp up over the slice(s)

As I've been using the V1.0 beta demo, the feature I need the most before I buy is being able to lock slices to beats and lock slices to other slices on other tracks so they move together etc.

By the way terrific product and probably my next purchase anyway!
Keep on coding more like this. (Buzz coders will soon dominate the VST world as well :hihi: )

Jacob! Just had a nice play around with latest beta, managed to revive my old compositions finally thanks to your missing sample prompt menu. Sometimes the sample names can be obscure and so the location is not obvious, a quick search for it gets the results but it might be useful to list the old location, if it is known? That way it makes hunting them down a little easier.

It is fine either way though!

New F.R: Write the sample name on the RHS of the track in the arranger window? It can be hard to recognise which sample is which especially when mangling the slices to hell and back!

Got inspired already for a new idea, here's a snippet.

Wouldn't exist without Liveslice ;)

I totally agree

Ohm,

Looking over the 1.40 beta and so far so good. I'm playing around with the record audio input control and it seems to be doing what I want.

I HAVE occasionally run into a problem under Plogue Bidule where if the host tempo changes and I record a new loop (lock to loop and play are both enabled), then the plugin immediately goes into bypass mode and never leaves that state. The plugin has a little green arrow next to it and no matter what processing mode is set, the plugin immediately changes back to bypass. Unfortunately, I can't consistently reproduce the problem. :( I can send you my .bidule file to see if you can reproduce it. It's happened about 5 times over the past few days of testing. (I also noticed the same problem in 1.39 as well).

I'll keep banging away at it.

FR: Ideally I'd like to control the record functions from a midi pedal. I noticed a FR for automation of the record parameters in a few other posts. Do you think this might make it into the next beta round?

Thanks,

taji

If I make the purchase now, can I get in on the beta testing :hihi:

thanks for the great suggestions and detailed bugreports guys - as always you are a great help :-)

Work is progressing, I'm still on page 2 of this thread though, experimenting with different keyboard shortcuts.

Interesting, cool and really wild things are happening with the colors:

I've created a quick development blog at http://liveslice.livejournal.com/ - it's the quickest way to post screenshots and stuff. I might just use it as an image host though. I'm not much of a blogger bloke - you never know though, I might suddenly feel the urge to share my diary with the world :-)

and Soma: there's always room for another beta tester, let me know when you have registered :-) - actually I was considering an optional "please send me betas" registration form on the website. That will probably have to wait 'till I implement a users area.

Great idea on the livejournal Jacob. The update will be a biggy I can feel it! :)

Oh, by the way, is rex file format importing coming soon?

:)

Is switching patterns quantized?

no, because it's not meant to work that way ;) - you can play more arrangements at once using several midi notes, so they just add up when triggered instead of being played exclusively.

rex will be in 1.5.

and by the way: nice tune you got started there (the link posted above) - i'd like to hear the final result - livelab.dk could use some more demo mp3's

new beta soon. added slice locate function, fixed the reported bugs, laying final hand on RGB color selector controls. I feel there's room for more keyboard shortcuts too - suggestions are welcome- here's a unique chance to influence the key-mapping (I have no immediate plans on making key shortcuts customizable - too much work).
I thought about using TAB to move the keyboard focus between the arranger, slicer, loops list and file browser and add different key shortcuts to each.

I'm not sure if this was suggested ealier but I would really like to be able to scroll down to lower tracks without having to use the mouse. The scroller bar in the window is sometimes hard to get at and requires a very percise mouse click. Its especially important to get to the bottom tracks quickly when you are trying to compose in a frantic brainstorming session. I run into this problem frequently because whenever new tracks are added they are out of sight if more than three are in use at one time.

I noticed alot of functions already assigned to the up and down arrows, perhaps dedicating the page up or page down buttons to this function?
