No dedicated Kontakt mappings. But you can use the Battery 1 ones. They're working fine (probably requiring the occasional fine tuning).Bluze wrote:Thanks for uploading this, guys!
I read Sascha made some Kontakt mappings as well, any possibility of uploading them again?

Oh no, wait!
I made some Kontakt mappings indeed - actually they're intended to be used in Kompakt (they're multis), with each of the individual drum instruments loaded into separated slots.
They seem to work fine in Kontakt as well. Want them?

Sure:backpage wrote:Wow those multi-mappings sound like what I'm looking for. Much more control. Can you upload them?

In case you got the samples in subfolders (which they are, by default), sample search becomes a tad nasty with Battery 1 and Kontakt/Kompakt 1.x, so don't forget to resave them once you're done.

autodafe, could you perhaps add the other formats to your site? I mean, they're just a few kb.

Hi Peter. You copy and paste each of the two links in your browser address bar.pschelfh wrote:First of all : a big thanks to GIRO for making these samples available to everyone !![]()
Do I have to rename these files to .zip before I can unzip them?leonard wrote:You guys should now be able to download the soundset in two parts (100 mb and 85 mb) at rapidshare.de:
http://rapidshare.de/files/18789257/GSC ... .zip.001.h tml
http://rapidshare.de/files/18789241/GSC ... .zip.002.h tml
You'll have to unzip the two files in order to get to the .rar file, which of course needs to be unpacked as well.
Should you have problems with handling the zip or the rar part, I can recommend the free 7zip program. Use it all the time.
Let me know if this is working as intended.
Thanks,
Peter.

Then, after some waiting you'll be able to download those files. They are zip, you only need to put them in a folder of your choice and click on the first file (the one ending with 001). That will put the two parts together, so you have the original .rar file. You have to unpack that as well, as I wrote you could use WinRar or the free 7zip, which you can get here:

I could keep them up on my ISPs webspace forever as well - I just thought it'd be a nice idea to have all the files in one place.Villy wrote: I can 'host' the battery, kontakt, dr008 files if you wish.

Hey, many, many thanks to everyone who made this happen, most esp. GIRO for sampling and creating this.

Giro,
Just want to say that Iv had five minutes playing around with 'Kit 1'... and Im hooked!
Im amazed how good a sound I can get with so few hits. It really shows how good quality AND economical sampling can be achieved. Very well done.
And although they require a little more processing, Im finding these samples to sound significantly better than my original DFH. The kick has much more punch, as does the snare. And they respond wonderfully to a compressor!
Thanks again for a fantastic freebie, possibly one of the best Iv downloaded.

Here you go lads, this is a bit of Giro's kit in action. Not EQ, a smidge of reverb, and some compression / saturation.

I'll run the same midi down later using DFH, but Im sure it wont sound nearly as powerful. Those kicks really beef up nicely whereas the DFH kicks just go flabby in my experience.

Here's another on but with some vinyl break mixed into it. I think it sounds great, I can see myself using these samples all over the shop.

Question is, do we have anymore on the way out?

G&S DURO DRUMKIT <play this and have a listen to my first mic setup test for this new drum kit..
Just 4 mics.
KICK: Shure Beta52
SNARE: Sen 421 II
OVERHEADS: 2 Shure KSM32
As you can hear! there is no phasing and the snare stays in place! I have heard samples where the layers velocities move from left to right and so on! not good!
