There is a thread going about "Dynamic clone" http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=132027 and it brings up the possibility of imposing pre amp sim dynamics on the compressed post amp sim signal. That would be a great feature on all amp sims, I think! The plugin most mentioned so far in the thread is ndc's Amplitude Imposer http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1492.html - the source code is available on the site too if that matters any.
Possibly too late for consideration in FreeAmpSE 1.5, but it might be worth further exploration - I'm going to give Amplitude Imposer a try later today if I get a chance.

I'm not understanding the need for such a effect in an amp-simguitarzan wrote:There is a thread going about "Dynamic clone" http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=132027 and it brings up the possibility of imposing pre amp sim dynamics on the compressed post amp sim signal. Like I said I truely don't uderstand what its use would be in a amp sim
The synths are done now back to FreeAmpSE, hope to not take too long?

will be a while before i can buy another guitar et al. but just to say thank you for releasing free plugs!

you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Mainly it would be for restoring dynamics on high gain settings where amp sims tend to pull all the life out. You probably wouldn't want the exact same dynamics as the dry signal but I'm sure the amount the dry signal expands the compressed signal can be dialed in. The dynamics wouldn't even have to come from a totally dry signal - just from somewhere upstream of the high gain distortion.FrettedSynth wrote:I'm not understanding the need for such a effect in an amp-simThe dry guitar signal has a huge attack and fades rather quick, that was\is one of the hardest things to overcome in a direct line guitar IMHO that is where most direct line guitar sims fall short! for me, be it hardware or software
But without the sustain it is not like a cranked amp
I am a bass player so a lot of this is new to me
but damn some of those guitar rigs I stood in front of in the past still ring in my ears
To me, lack of dynamics is the main problem with modeled high gain sounds - but I guess the solution ,whatever it is, doesn't really have to be built into the amp sim. Boy, the original POD sure could have used something like Amplitude Imposer, though!

Well here is to hoping the up-dated FreeAmpSE will cure that problemguitarzan wrote:Mainly it would be for restoring dynamics on high gain settings where amp sims tend to pull all the life out. Like I mentioned that is one of the big beef's I have had with any direct line guitar since the 80's! to have sustain and dynamics in the same amp sim, I now think is totally possable??
And again thanks for all the input, the microsynth thingy will be coming
Peace

Glad to see all is well. Looking forwards to the new FreeAmpSE.
Best of luck with the implementation of new features!

FreeAmpSE is already one of the most dynamic amp sims for higher gain sounds. Plus I keep forgetting that there are so many changes already on the way. In fact....sounds more like it should be FreeAmpSE 2.0 to me!FrettedSynth wrote:Well here is to hoping the up-dated FreeAmpSE will cure that problemI do believe I'm getting very close?

Hello All
The updates have all been added for v1.5
Things left to-do finish presets and write a manual, then final testing.
Hope it won't take too long
If you have any more requests, Please keep them coming, all the more for future versions
