I'm looking for a multiband compressor for mastering.
I've tried C3 by SlimSlowSlider and the Apple Multiband Compressor, but haven't really been able to make mixes sound better, just slightly louder and audibly compressed. Should I just keep tweaking these (as in: do you think I could get good results with either), or invest in a commercial plug?
I've read so much good about Voxengo's here on KVR, but alas, not for Mac. Also thinking about Vintage Warmer, but I have this fear that it may sound good to my somewhat untrained ears now, yet later I'll go back and think it worse - others have described this.
Any input appreciated. Thanks.
Multi-band compressor for Mac (PPC)?

what's your host?
I use the one in Logic but also Vintage Warmer
the latter is a bit more tricky in my opinion to use as multiband, I still haven't really got my head around it, but it sounds great (not transparent though but that's probably it's charm

Ableton Live 5. I use Saturator (setting: soft, no extra drive) on the master channel to get things louder with only slight coloration. Not sure if that's really a good aidea, though.spaceman wrote:what's your host?

I agree 100%. For the price you can't go wrong. Try the demo
