VST error when installing Amplitube 2

I am trying to install Amplitube 2 on my Windows XP laptop. Amplitube 2 requires a USB license key (which I do have properly installed). When I launch the install, after choosing to install the VST plug-in, I get the following error:

"Default VST path not found in registry"

From there I cannot get Cakewalk's Guitar Tracks Pro 3 to recognize it.

I did receive AmplitubeLE when I bought GTPro3. I later upgraded to Amplitube 1.0, and had no problems with its installation or use. Now, when trying to install version 2.0, I get the above error.

Any suggestions?
