C00kie,

great tips in there still,

"Mix at low speed for about 2 minutes, then mix at medium speed"...

Never thought of *that* one before! Maybe my mixes will sound more pro after trying that! :hihi:

Regarding up/down and compress/expand, well, it isn't anywhere near a "one knob compressor", so I guess one either must know or must learn what the difference between up and down compression and expansion is to be able to tweak this effortlessly.
well, it's ok, I have some theorical knowledge about comps, I just had to find the way controls were linked to knowledge héhé.
so let's imagine giving this comp to someone who hadn't this experience.
That's always an "issue", since giving advanced tools to people not knowing what the tool is supposed to do is kindof like begging for issues :) Would be better to just have a compressor without the ability to do any other kind than downwards compression in that case, which would be an entirely different product imho.

i'm a bit thick, but i liked the upward/downward options and got some cool creative sounds on my drums, thanks! :tu:

totally agree, I was a bit disapointed by the signal flow, and the fact those two differnts products still have the same name ;).
but eg, having the knob controlling the final mix between hi and lo signal before any other knobs is not so helpfull to understand signal path.
whatever, it's good to have a comp that can work "positively" instead of the traditionnal way.

Should I move the hi/lo mix knob towards the output stage of the compressor? It does indeed seem to make perfect sense :)

Also I'd probably make the attack/release knobs logarithmic and I'd like to have a readout on them as well, as it is now they go from 1-2000ms in a linear fashion, which makes it quite hard to tweak in the <50ms region. Making them logarithmic would solve this issue.

What makes me prefer upwards compression over downwards is that it lets you keep the peaks if you want to, even with very heavy compression.

The Eq's pretty good, but the interface is entirely too small. Nice, though, overall.

Will make a bigger version.

Kingston & silicon/silicium:
I have changed the gui layout, and more importantly, removed an optimization that cause a sluggish behaviour to the compressor. This was also the fault for the clicking with very low attacks (now I can have attacks down to 0.1ms and it works just fine).

Will try to get new versions out later today.

Please dont remove the wet/dry knob this plug is more of an effect than a dynamics tool by nature i reckon.

Great Work Stefan Thanks !

Hey, who said you could make effect-plugins? Where's Nildon? Damnit! ;)

New versions:
- Larger GUI on the EQ
- Value Readouts (where crucial) on compressor GUI
- Higher precision in the compressor
- Logarithmic attack/release knobs on compressor GUI

Both plugs now crash Reaper.

Did the previous versions work?

Hey, these two effects are quite good; the compressor is particularily interesting...nice job, stefancrs!

working fine in Wavelab and Cubase SX 2.
