not autopan as such (ie not a sweep pan), but an effect that will automatically pan each note left/right (amount adjustable)
so, first note goes left, secong note goes right, etc etc...not sequnced, but triggered by the incoming audio
make sense?
just a thought.

i seems as you want the spread feature as it is vanguard (which works as well for delays sunds etc....Kriminal wrote:make sense?
euh i don't know any vst/dx effect that does this ....
when i want to do this, i smply automate the pan funtcion on the channel directly on the host, though if there's a very long melody , it can take some time

yeah, i normally open two synths and pan one hard right/one hard left, each one playing alternate notes....dsp music wrote:i seems as you want the spread feature as it is vanguard (which works as well for delays sunds etc....Kriminal wrote:make sense?

One of Oli Larkin's older plugs called basispan does this. From the description:
basispan v1.0
------------------------------------------------------------------
Plugin Description:
Some synths have a control called basis which pans the sound left and right each time you press a key. Basispan is an effect plugin that lets you swap the pan position of a signal with midi notes.
How to use the plugin:
Use this plugin as an insert for a stereo track. Create a midi track and route the output to basispan. If you are using the effect with a vsti synth, just duplicate the midi part and route the copy to basispan. Now each time a note is played on the synth, it will swap stereo position . You can change the panning width and type. Midi data sent to basispan should be monophonic. If you get clicks in the audio, adjust the slew control.
Couldn't find it on his new site, but found a direct link:

LinPlug Cronox/Sophistry has a mod source called alternate (?) which does this. The Original hardware PPG Wave did this (never tried the soft but assume it is in there). It is a very usable feature I am not sure why so few synths include it...
