That's very impressive. What are you using for a controller a Roland Midi Guitar setup?

Wade
Sorry for the late reply but I was away up in Yosemite. Thanks for the kind words. I used a Godin LGX-SA guitar through a Roland GR-1 to send the midi to sampletank in Live.

Dan
Those that can, do. Those that can't, argue about it on k-v-r

I think I am going to hold out on the Midi Guitar until Brian Moore finally puts a USB - Midi controller in his guitars. That way I can skip over the Roland converter. Dan have you ever used Sampletanks or SR acoustic samples with your rig?

Dan sorry for the typo on your name. That edit function on these forum works wonders.

Wade,

I also have a Brian Moore i2.13 which I also love. Both the Godin and the Brian Moore have great sounds through their respective Seymore Duncan pick-ups as well as the transducers. They both also track midi really well with their 13 pin connections.

I was excited when I saw that they were going to produce a USB version but I was under the impression that it only carried the pick-up into the computer. I hope I am wrong, however, because it would be nice to just plug-in the USB and deliver midi straight through without the GR-1. Seems like there would have to be some siginificant electronics in the Brian Moore to do so. I'll have to check into it further.

Yeah, I've used Sampletank, Capsules and Sonik Synth with the midi guitar rig(s). I've also had a lot of fun with some of the other stringed instrument patches such as the mandolin patch that has trills at the highest velocity layer. You can get some realistic sounds out of it. On the song page of my website, "Dark Scar" has a nylon string ST patch and "Foolish One" has an acoustic patch. In fact, not all, but the majority of guitars in the instrumental section are some kind SR sample. Some of that will change now that I have AT2 :)

We have a Brian Moore as well with the Roland box. I also have a really unusual decice called a Digitar. ILIO used to sell them. It was made by Charlie Labs and you strum this little six string emulation thing about the size of your hand and the other hand you play chords on the keyboard and it automatically does the voicings. Anyway, one of these days we'll record a bunch of midi files done with either of the two or other fancy midi controller gadgets. But, this is on the list of things we'll be doing to offer more things you can do with our sampled guitars. There's also a cool system for doing strums as well that I will do a video on after Studiophonik is out.

Dan,

I saw on a website (Sonic State I believe) where they mentioned that Brian Moore was looking at building a USB Midi Guitar. So I wrote customer service at Brian Moore and received the following response from Robin Palmer, Sales and Marketing:

Not sure when this guitar will ship, but I think I'll be purchasing one when it does.

Very Cool. I'll have to put that on my wish list too. That is if Squids and the boys don't drain me dry with the cool new programs coming out like R.A.W. and Studiophonik.
