It is just a demo dialog saying Spectra instead of MPL-1 but is is fixed now.bullshark wrote:Mmm, I've downloaded at 7:34am (-5 GMT), not yet installed, should I download again?Torben wrote:ttoz, the recycled message is fixed. Thank you for discovering that with your Hawkeye![]()
I would get flamed for answering this. I do think you should try the demoCANE CREEK wrote:I use the universal audio precision limiter on all my projects would the MPL-1 Mastering Precision Limiter be as good or even better ?
The Dither in MPL-1 works fine but not as effective as UV22, POWR when it comes to CDA mastering. Often Hosts got one of the above ditherings to offer.IIRs wrote:Sure, but I already have better EQ options (ie: linear phase, or dynamic), multi-band compression when I need it (not often), good reverbs etc. The only bits of Ozone that I don't already have well covered are the limiter and the dither.. and if I buy MPL-1 it will be just the dither.HHaynes wrote: I'd say that it's a mistake to look at Ozone only for its dither.
No I do not think so. Making a good dithering is a science in it self and many Hosts already got one of the good ones implemented.IIRs wrote:I just tested the MPL-1 dither anyway. It works perfectly well.. but, like every other dither I have tested so far it doesn't have that warm soft <hush> sound that MegaBitMax manages.
Torben, I don't suppose you have some amazing Ozone-killing dither algo up your sleave for the next plug..?

Why, is there some way to buy MegaBitMax seperately?ttoz wrote: Are people thinking it is authentic megabit max?
I think its great because I tested it myself and nothing else came close.

Thanks for the answer! I haven't tested all the famous ones myself, but there's an online comparison somewhere and I remember being somewhat underwhelmed by the likes of UV-22 and the Waves algos.Torben wrote:

Oh well, as Bob Katz once said: "if the mix isn't good, or the music isn't swinging, then dither probably doesn't matter very much."

Hi Torben,
I gave the MPL-1 a brief shot on my notebook (PC), it's quiet impressive and probably a must have for me. But as I'm on Mac for my daily work, can you say someting about when it will be released for Mac? And which formats?
Thanks!

i must confess im no limiter expert , however i opened an old project in cubase and put the UAD-1 precison limiter and MPL-1 Master Limiter on the master channel . kept tweeking them both muting each in turn and i was left very impressed with the MPL-1......
....i see what my money situation is like on payday.

Yes its the authentic megabit max dither, although an improved version I heard. They licensed it to Ozone. It says this somewhere at the very old megabit max site, with links provided.ttoz wrote:what's so great about ozone's dither? Are people thinking it is authentic megabit max? becasue i am not so sure it's not just tricky wording if you read the izotope site. I'd love someone to confirm for sure either way..

Yep, I would like to know that too. We desperately need a good limiter for the Mac - choices for good limiters are pretty limited on the Mac side, and from the feedback here, yours seems to be the best.friteuse wrote:Hi Torben,

Any plany to release your other stuff for Mac, too?

The MPL-1 is expected to be released for Mac VST and AU in 1-2 month. After that we will release other plugins for Mac.friteuse wrote:Hi Torben,

No, just kidding, but when I purchase it today for PC, how will your crossplatform policy be? May I get the Mac version when it's released for free then or have I to buy it again?

Must join in the choral... I really don't know if this is the best limiter available (nor do i have the time to check each other limiter out), but for me, this is THE vst-based limiter. Impressive, even the standart edition doesnt leave out much to ask for, and the price is fair. Great Work
