Sounds awesome Techbot!
Only problem is that I hear some samples that sound unindigenous to the cd?
At 0:28 "It's sorta like a big pile of dreams in a way"...

This is really cool work though and I like how how you mixed the various elements you chose and the overall cohesiveness.
1. Your submission must ONLY contain elements from the KRCD. (no outside samples or loops) {You must own the KRCD to participate}
:?

Nonetheless, it is AWESOME!!! I love it and I like how you chopped up Rockstar's vocals!

Well, it's never too late to check out the Chrysalid CD if you haven't already. ;)

Perhaps I didn't give enough of a deadline for entrants...
I really don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth, so if attention can be had then the contest could continue!

I just found out about this and I was part of the first group to buy the CD... there is no way I can get a song done tonight (actually, since it's past midnight, I guess April has ended...).

I really want to do this but I have 3 jobs, and go to 2 colleges and I have finals coming up... I aleady had to cut into some school work finishing up a song for a record company. If you did this contest in the summer, there would be a lot more hope I think...

hey, by the way, maybe you can do a CD charity again except for these kids: http://www.invisiblechildren.com

My friend at USC told me about this cause he was helping the founders with the filming there. I think it would really bring more awareness to what these kids go through and hopefully bring us a step closer to some kind of resolve.

I admit it. I hadn't looked at the rules for some time.:-o

A remix of any one tune only using the elements from the CD.

Thats extremely tight. It would be very diificult to find enough elements to fit together.

More a blend or mashup than a remix. which means there would be a limited amount of variation possible.
After two or three tunes, unless each element was heavily filtered enough that even the original creator didn't recognise it, they would begin to sound the same ie

Several different Album Mashups rather than tune remixes.

Difficult but not impossible,

What might make it easier if some of the original conntributers posted some of the sample elements before they were layered. Or made some samples from whatever method they used.

Otherwise there is only one or two drum loops that are sparse enough, the piano loops and some of the ambient pieces. Most of the other tunes have too many instruments playing at any one time, to extract usable loops.

I had originally intended to only use the Chrys CD not realising it was a condition, but found it nearly impossible. Yet I do more mashup- remixes than I do normal tunes. It might be a bit too difficult for most musicians who would be used to less constraint.

However saying all this and even if you do extend the competition....

Is it ok for me to tell my friends I was the only one to submit on time and I was disqualified. :D :D :D :D ( I know I was actually a month late- not exactly on time)

P.S I did this tune to show my appreciation to you guys and to prove to myself and others that I believe in this method of collaboration.

I'm glad you liked it Freeztar, I hope Scott does too.

PP.S Welcome back Xander!!!!

Keith mate -- It's partially my fault since I've been so damn busy on the personal front -- I haven't put enough time into advertising this contest. I think we should expand it out for at least another month or even longer to get the momentum going properly. The prizes sure are worthy and I am hearing many say the same thing -- not enough time to meet the deadline -- or -- I just found out about it, etc...

What say mate? ;)

How can I argue with y'all! :hihi:

ok...

The Deadline has been extended until June 30, 2006.

That should give more than ample time for people to submit.
