I downloaded the Anechoic Room Simulator by Bram of Smartelectronix.
It doesn't do anything! Then I noticed that April 1st is mentioned in
the version/name, Is this an april fools joke?
I was checking it out through CMuzys using it as an aux effect.
hehe, no matter which way I turned the knob, I didn't hear anything, heh
especially noise, therefore I guess it is truely high fidelity *<)8)

Does it's "no reverb" sound better than an impulse response of silence?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anechoic_room states
An anechoic room simulates a free field — a representation of a theoretical infinite space, in which there are no sound wave reflections (echoes). In rooms such as these, the only sounds which exist are emitted directly from their source, and not reflected from another part of the chamber. Anechoic rooms have the characteristic of being muted, muffled, and silent.

An anechoic room is used for making acoustic measurements with microphones and loudspeakers
Its a room whith no reflections - most of it is absorbed, thats why it sounds muffled because its in a box. If it was not in a box then it would be a dry sound?

Well, you still would get a impulse response, but it would not be dry, it would have its speaker and the box coloration. The impulse response result would have to be the same as the original, and that can't be done anyway, because besides the speaker, you would have electronic and microphone effects too.

I actually have this permanently in my exciters folder just to remind myself to trust my ears, not my eyes :D
The mind boggles.

Sometimes I dont think people appreciate the amount of hard work that was put into this plugin; its a shame really.

Anyways, I would also suggest this plugin is a suitable insert on Sonar 5.2 projects prone to the 'looping' bug mentioned in the release documentation.

I always run my silence through a tube preamp - "warm" silence is so much nicer that regular silence...
In fact, I have a whole Space Designer impulse folder full of silence from various hardware:
PCM90 Silence
PCM90 (OnBypass) Silence
Fairchild 670 Silence
2" Tape Silence with NR
etc...

Infinite space - must be real hard on cpu to calculate. :D

This is the natural partner of Anechoic Room Simulator. If you suffer from insufficient transparency, just add my Transparency Preserver and marvel at the improvement. I guarantee the absolute lowest distortion of any plug-in on the market now or in the future.

Sadly, this classic is no longer available. But if you ask anyone who's used it they'll tell you -- NOTHING sounds as good as Transparency Preserver!
