Which modes are needed for the bands? I was thinking that peaking, highpass, lowpass, high shelf and low shelf should do the trick. Comments?

That does it for me. I was using your mostly for peak boosting.

should be enough for an allround EQ, then it could be good to have some differents algo for the peaks, bu as it is, it's already a good tool. can we have a little bigger interface, to have more precise settings?
also I just though to a cool feature: a way to type a text or to change the background color to keep things clear between different instances on differents tracks.
could be a cool feature to have.

You can hold shift for fine-tweaking so I'm not sure a large interface will be of any aid. The resolution when holding shift is quite high. But feel free to have other opinions

I like the text idea (and there is room for a "caption" at the top), will have a look at it later on, not exactly highest priority atm

Looks cool so far. I think the gui size is perfect to be honest at least on my 1024 x 768 reso. That's about perfect for filter types as well. You don't want to get too crazy. The only feature I think might be cool to include is a little soft clipper like on the comp for when you're doing heavier boosting.

also, the higher band have its Q setting out of the GUI most of the time. do you think it's possible to edit the Q with the two handles??

LOADS of plugins do this, often its also worth trying ALT or CTRL buttons as well, and sometimes the cursors offer fine control...
