Hi, I use Sonar 4 Producer and am looking for a great great reverb effect. I have the pantheon and lexicon that come with sonar. Does anyone know what the better reverbs (and delays) are?
Many thanks,
Chris

After reading lots of these threads about reverbs, trying a fair few etc. It's become apparent to me that there is no 'best' reverb - it's dependent on what kind of music you're making.
Some are more specialised, some more flexible than others.
I like Ableton live's built inreverb for certain effects, I also quite like psp's free spring reverb.
A deeper, more flexible one is the artsacoustic reverb.
Another that seems to be getting great props (as mentioned by sickle) is the IK reverb.

For me personally the best is Classik Studio Reverb by ik multimedia, after that i like uad's plate 140 and dreamverb, after that i like wavearts masterverb 5,wizooverb 2,gigapulse, and perfect space.
CSR seems to be my favorite and has more rolled into one package i.e. silky smooth sound, transparent, character, diverse sound, feature rich so its easy to tailor to taste etc I suggest you try demo's.

Reverbs - see above; also nice: Audiodamage Deverb, Silverspike ones, Spinaudio, Karma FX Verb (free), Voxengo OldSkool (free).
Best Delays: Audiodamage Dubstation & Ronin, Ohmboyz, Nusofting ones,PSP.
Free ones (all better than Sonitus): Ixos Delays, Arcdev Dubbox & PT 200, Concrete FX Tapedelay.

This type of question usually does create wars, but in actuality tho the majority can lean twards one brand or another it usually boils down to personal taste. The best thing we can do is recommend all the verbs we like but the best thing the inquirer can do is demo and find what works for them (wich in the end may differ from all recommendations).Kraku wrote:This questions has created numerous wars in numerous threads on these forums... Before I converted to Sonar I had lots of difficulty finding reverbs I really liked and tried most of them. The fact that the Sonitus one is so good was one of Sonar's draws.nrcpma wrote:Hi, I use Sonar 4 Producer and am looking for a great great reverb effect. However, I now find myself totally over-awed by the Perfect Space convolution reverb that ships with Sonar 5 PE (including more than 300 outstanding impulses).
So my recommendation would have to be that you upgrade your Sonar 4 to version 5 and pick up the Perfect Space reverb into the bargain. Given all the other improvements in Sonar 5 (including V-Vocal tool, Pentagon I and PSYNII synths) I'm sure you won't regret it!
