I was playing with a phaser-based chorus for NuBi Plus and things got out of hand ...

NuBi Plus will have 6 and 8 stage "mono" phaser-based chorus options -- But this thing can do mono and two types of stereo - 4/6/8/10/12 stages - LFO from 0.1 Hz to 10Hz and a few more controls 'cause I just couldn't help myself ....

It is explained only slightly better in the .txt file that is in the .zip ;)

The current version is (1) beta (2) PC only and (3) GUI-less (I am hopeful that amoebe will do a GUI for it eventually)

BTW, the presets are really cheesy so far - but it sure sounds cool in spite of it!

Right-click here/Save Target As...you know the drill

Please let me know what you think!

peace,
pj

EDIT : revised the title - there are a few more options. For instance, there are 6 stage settings from 6 to 16 ...

Pretty nifty! I like the polarity setting. I only have a couple of phasers, and that on'es new to me.

Thanks for checking it out!

After somemore thought, I do think I need to add another mono-in configuration - one that inverts the phaser signal to one side (only) - this will create a "stereo" image from a mono source.

I really like it, thanks for this one!
I also like the idea of the channel inverter.
Could you make the lfo frequency sizeable to 0.01 Hz minimum? :hyper: (I like them very(!) slow) :D

This sounds great!

No need for a GUI. Everything you need to access is right there. I think a GUI would only add size and CPU resorces that could be better spent on music.

The new version will be out in about 10 hours or so - I'll add an LFO range control to shift the frequencies to 0.01 to 1.0 Hz - sound good to you?

I tend to agree but some hosts can't handle GUI-less plugs so I will have to provide one at some point. And if amoebe is able to free up some time it will almost certainly look really cool!

In the continuing saga of "things got out of hand with my new phaser code", here's the latest (same location, new .zip) :

Right-click here/Save Target As

Now there are 6 stage settings from 6 to 16 and as before the current version is (1) beta (2) PC only and (3) GUI-less (and I am still hopeful that amoebe will do a GUI for it eventually)

And now there are 16 cheesy preset ;)

Wow, thanks. I'll have to test it when I get on the "music making" machine :)
A guy with serious GAS and lots of unused VSTs. But if I someday need them...

Glad you like - the low LFO range was really easy to do - thanks for suggesting it!

It does create a very slow transition; when I was testing that feature at the 0.01Hz point I thought I had failed because I hadn't fully realized 0.01Hz means 100 seconds a cycle - oh man now that is slow ;)

Here is the (final) parameter list - note that the order of LFODepth and LFOShift has changed :

Config: Mono | Mono to Stereo | 2 Channel Single phase LFO | 2 Channel Dual Phase LFO
LFO Range: Nom | Low
LFO Speed: 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz (nom range) | 0.01 Hz to 1 Hz (low range)
LFO Shift
LFO Depth
Phaser Stages: 6 | 8 | 10 | 12 | 14 | 16
Feedback
Mix: wet/dry
Polarity: sets the polarity of the phased signal in the output mixer
Out Level

As before, if anyone is trying this new version after loading an older one you will have to reload this VST Effect.
