Hi all,
Anybody interested in trying an alpha build of the new version of Cantabile (1.1)?
I haven't publicly released it yet, but if you've got the time and don't mind playing with alpha builds, please PM or email me and I'll forword download details...
As far as I know its stable but not quite finished.
For information on what's new:

New version looks great and that miscroscore display is very cool!!!
It would be nice if we could use that display like we do piano roll for editing. Can you please implement something like that?It doesn't need to be something special, just that we can drag and resize notes and maybe some grid for quantization...Please!

Glad you like the new version.
Editing notes in the microscore? You'd have to be pretty keen I reckon - it's very small. I was thinking of doing some simple editing in a future version but more along the lines of splicing two recordings together ie: manipulating blocks of midi events not individual notes.
Anyway thanks for your comments, I'll certainly keep it in mind for a future version.

ttoz, to be honest I haven't even considered that possibility. In what situation and with which other host would you use it?
(Just trying to "get it" - I don't think I properly understand the reason for wanting to do that).

Gargoyle, thanks. (I wrote it for my wife who does lots family history research and is constantly cross referencing various documents. She swears by it.)

OK I get it.
On the shared identity problem. I've got a little dll I wrote to debug Cantabile that logs calls between VSTs and a host. It could easily be modified to allow "re-identification" of an existing plugin.
It could work like this:
1. Change the file extension of the offending plugin to something like ".old"
2. Rename the the dll I'd supply to the name of the original plugin.
3. Supply a new ID though a simple config file.
4. The original plugin would now appear to the host with a new ID.
Granted its not chainer, nor will it fix host incompatibilities but it will easily solve the multiple identity problem, with low overhead (mostly everything will just pass through).
Are you interested in something like this? If so I _think_ its pretty simple to setup. Hardest part would be coming up with a name for it!
As for Cantabile as a VST subhost, I'll keep it in mind.

Cantabile 1.1 is gorgeous and works 100% perfectly on both of my machines. You have really done a good thing releasing this for free, brad. Thanks!
