The visuals make it sound better.
I know it's weird but it's true. Like, I have been more productive with WS now that I have skinned it and made my nest visually, it's like breathing/so comfortable to use. I am dying to do the same for FreeAMP. IT's gonna be a long fun learning experience. I'm honored to be a part of this man, seriously.
What's everyone else think of FreeAMP1.5 so far? I think it sounds as good or better than AT1 and is definitely way more "responsive" to my playing and driving it harder than AT1 and GR1. This thing plays more realistic than my POD and my GuitarPort too, I have never tried AT2 or GR2 or that other one..
Freaking gift, not worthy.

@tingle: Ahh. I have PSP vintageMeter, duh. I should have thought of that. Joe, is this a possibility? I mean it's still just frames so if I animated it's rotation from left to right where the pin moves I would imagine it could be emulated, ... What say you ampgod?

Yep! just make the needle with a transparent background, then you can make any VU box part of the amp background or just one image. will send you an example from the SE default skin.grymmjack wrote:@tingle: Ahh. Still having fun here but I find all of the clean presets/settings very quiet. I can really pump the input on the sound card or with some gain boosters before hand etc but then hiss becomes a pretty serious issue. I was wondering if this is my fault or if the clean channels are just pretty quiet?

What is your setup to the input of the soundcard and what does the amps input VU show? best to work with the output level for clean tones! as cranking the input can\will cause clipping of the preamp.

I'm plugging the guitar straight into the HI-Z input of my soundcard. The input goes up to about 20-25% max.
The output volume doesn't have enough gain I find so maybe need to run in some sort of maximisers after the amp?
Any tips would be appreciated.

FrettedSynth... what can I say? This is the best amp sim I've ever heard. It has the tone I've been trying to get but have never had with other direct input methods. The clean tones are really amazing... so much warmth. I'm going into an an Alesis Multi-Mix 8 chan. mixer (used as preamp to jump up the input gain a bit) then into an Audigy 2 soundcard to Sonar 4. I'm playing an EMG/LTD MH400 with active EMG 81/85 pickups. I've had no problems at all so far.
I can't wait to see the new GUI!

Just so long as we can switch them off if we need to reserve CPU.Mr. Tingle wrote:obviously not a direct copy but something along the lines of:

a combination of old and new, a bit like the tardis (from a UK tv program called doctor who) would be very cool.

Hey, how to I get this to check it out?
By the way, FreededSynth, did you manage to get the Flange effect in there for me?

Hook up your guitar to your soundcard with a line level matching device (DI box, mic preamp).
