Will Neutron be able to import Battery kits? Please :)

The big problem with file conversions like this is that whilst its easy enough to read the file data, the capabilities of the two instruments in question are often so different a faithful recreation of the original sounds is impossible.

Neutron and Battery have such wildly different specifications I wouldn't have imagined it would work very well.

So I guess that is a no... bummer

i went and looked at this plugin on your web site, looks like something that ive been waiting for at a good price.

-can you only have 16 slices per loop?

-where slices occur, can that be determeined by the user?

thanks

Post

The slices aren't assigned to the pads (only the loop is) so yes, you can easily have more than 16 slices.

The way it works is that a loop is sliced up, and assigned to either to just one MIDI key (the whole loop plays at the host tempo) or to each slice to a seperate key. Then you have full control over playback.

i see.

sounds good, i will be trying this out!

tnx in advance

I think the filters on the DS-404 are rather good, actually.
Don't you listen to him ,Dave.

I think Neutron is Vapourware (that ought to get Dave's attention). :D

The filters in Neutron are the same as those in DS404, with some minor tweaks. However that's a lot better than those in SR202, which is the source of that particular comparison.

...and no, Neutron is most definately NOT vapourware. There's been an exciting development that means things are moving slightly more slowly than we originally planned with this product whilst we sort out something *really* cool. Watch this space.

I was just giving you a hard time my friend Dave.I'm sure Neutron will be well worth the wait. :P

All seems to have gone very quiet on the Neutron front.

OK Thanks, I'm sure if I practice I can do patient :)

Now the problem is for me that MuZynth in Muzys has rendered my nead for an amazing drum sampler VSTi almost redundant.

I can now create amazing kits with multiple velocity layering and crossfading, along with synthesis, 32 mono channels of output, beat slicing, ability to speed up loops to different tempos (although not in the kind of user friendly way that Neutron will), multiple filters up to 48dB - different types configurable in serial and parallel combinations, Lo Fi, Waveshaping, Ring Mod, layering of three different samples or combination of sample/synth, massive modulation options, and simple control interfaces for each sound.

Anyway - sounded like another excuse to portray the wonders of Muzys and the MuZynth monster.

I will probably buy Neutron anyway....loyalties die hard. :D
