Yeah! This isn't fun anymore and this goes to Torben and Aleksey(but Torben started this here so...) ...

But anyway.... how does a tube amplifier works Aleksey? :) I would like to know. I mean how you can mimic behaviour of a tube :-o

Though nobody can deny excellent sound from Marquis so i suspect that you do know something about that tubeish funny things :hihi:

Huh :o I was just asking how a tube amplifier works. Given the fact that Aleksey tells he got a tube module in Marquis I expect he must have done some research, I know we do make researches in the plug-ins we make. But you are right. I recall my question Aleksey; I do not want to put you in an embarrassing situation so just forget I asked.

'warm' :x

I suppose you also want you compressor to have 'character' and to sound 'more 3d'?
whats wrong with 'warm' and 'character'?? Audio is hard enough to verbalise as it is, if words like warm were disallowed it would be almost impossible!

I agree that a compressor isnt likely to sound 3d ;) though a mix could sound more 3D easily.

So how does a tube amplifier works Aleksey?

Torben
a "kind of" tube stage --- "adds harmonics similar"

I dont think he put in a full blown tube module -- according to what is said here - it just looks like youre jumping down his throat. And thats gay.
check my profile for contact info.
msn messenger is my email as well.

So, what are the guys who design digital guitar amps that emulate the various tube amp sounds doing?

Post

Faking it, just like the rest of us :)

Here is something warm and with character

"thats gay"? What a strange comment  But I will just repeat one of my last posts: "Given the fact that Aleksey tells he got a tube module in Marquis I expect he must have done some research, I know we do make researches in the plug-ins we make. But you are right. I recall my question Aleksey; I do not want to put you in an embarrassing situation so just forget I asked."

I think the "correlated and not harsh like simple saturation" sound interesting. He must have done some research I guess in order to come to that conclusion, so it should not be hard for him to answer. But anyway, just forget it, I do not really care.

Well, the people at Vox are doing a pretty good fake.
No, they don't sound exactly like a rectifier or a Marshall, but they have the general character.
