In the piano roll, I want to chop up the chord(s) according to the arpeggiator setting that I have set in the channel settings' FUNC tab. Is it possible?

For example, I want to change THIS:

To THIS:

I mainly want to be able to do this so that I can make minor changes to the notes. :)

I dont think so, but I could be wrong, how about using eXT in FL instead?...:)

NO. No more expenses on hosts! :D

Besides, this will make the MIDI easier to send to people using other hosts. :)

Anything that the channel arpeggiator does can be replicated by using a customised arpeggiator pattern.

You can create these in the Piano Roll and save them as .fsc so that they can be re-used easily. Try opening one of the custom arpeggiator patterns in the Piano Roll to see how they work.

For the example you've shown, you can simply select the notes (Ctrl-A) and then go to Tools-Arpeggiator (or press Alt-A). The default .fsc should be fine for what you want. Make sure you select 'Flip' so that the notes go down instead of up.

(though I get the sense I'm missing something about your question?)

I can't see your example pictures . Anyway I think "No" but you can chop your chords via Arpeggiate tool in PR tools.

That's how I got the screenshot.

A 3 note chord, as in rbet's first screenshot, chopped up using the arpeggiator tool to look like his second screenshot.

If you open up "Default.fsc", it's 3 16th notes going up chromatically. This is the data that the tool uses to decide how to chop up the chord. If you were to reverse them, you would get a downward arpeggiation (and if you stretch them, you alter the timing).

Only reason I know this is because I needed to use Triplets for a song and was able to write a custom arpeggiator pattern to do this across chords. Otherwise I would have had to draw all the triplets onto the piano roll manually.

I love FL. It lets you do these things. :)

I guess because I like the arp in eXT I never use the one in the PR...I got to mess with that some...:)
