I have an old 11" laptop that I sometimes use as an effects processor. 800x600 is larger than I can comfortably see an effect that large using that, since the resolution doesn't go beyond that.
My largest monitor is 15", now that I think about it. Smaller wouldn't really hurt for somebody like me.

800x600 is as small as i can make it unless i really go with tiny controls (not very fun to use).

A 17" isnt that expensive these days - with 17" your comfortably able to view 800x600...

moseph; thanks. i didn't realize that 11" screens were still in use. smallest i used in life was a 13" on a notebook (and a 12" or so on my apple 2)

Is there any way that the pedals can be hidden? They do seem pretty big, I'm more into tweaking the amp than the stomp boxes so I would prefer the amp to be a little more easy to fiddle with (bigger)?
Either way I'll use what ever comes just because the amp is so darn good

Sorry, I missed my email notification!
Grym, I'm OK with the 8x6! I opened up the jpeg in ACDSee in front of Cubase and it takes up most of the vertical real estate, but so does Kontakt, or Guitar Rig, Reaktor; it's fine. I'm cool with either of the last two sizes.

i agree spuddle. the same thing occured to me. dunno if the pedals are something we could redesign or not - i like amplitube style fx not pedals so i was thinking 1U racks but that'd be 10 racks. i cant make the pedals all fit in one width and Joe really liked the idea of 2 rows of pedals. I also thought "what if 2 versions were made - one with everything and one just amp, cab, gate, trem, no pedals" ...spuddle wrote:Is there any way that the pedals can be hidden? we can see what Joe says I guess. I dont want to make his life hard, I am trying to help not harm after all
in SE i don't think it is possible to hide/show/resize plugin areas, that would be ideal though. like guitarport/toneport an arrow to twirl it down to reveal pedals.

are you sure thers no way to show/hide stuff in Synthedit?
If there is id love it to be switchable between just the amp etc, and the amp + pedals.
If not - its better to have em all showing...

Looks good ... how about making the pedal-buttons not so high:grymmjack wrote:for kicks I simply resized the image to fit 800x600 (707x580) and this is livable for me to design around:
What do you guys think?
...also, instead of LEDs, light-up the button text or light-up the button itself ...
