This and the Kjaerhus 'classic phaser' are the two best phasers available imho. Anyone have other favourites that stack up against these ?

yes, pj, i tried the 6 stage of course, but it sounds too phased allready, compared to 4 stage ... i mean, don't get me wrong, it sounds good!pj geerlings wrote:Brok - have you tried the 6-stage setting - it's like 4 -- only betterbrok landers wrote:thanks, nice gui, nice sound!
nontheless .... no fourstage??
so no classic stringensemble-phasing possible ...
pj
but it just doesn't sound like a 4 stage, as one can heare more "spreaded resonance" over the frequency range ... a 4 stage phaser wouldn't , as there are two "resonace-peaks" (stages) less ...
listen to equinox by jean michel jarre, or to oxygene, listen to the phasersolina-strings ... there you can hear, what i mean ...
i've tried every phaser out there ...
closest is the logic-phaser or the supaphaser ...
but they're still not there ...

Phasers on Kill!!
Great GUI!! Nice sound, please
excuse the terminology but it's "warm & analog" sounding.
Still not quite as nice as my vintage MXR Phase 90 or
Boss AP-2, but a step in the right direction.
Great stuff PJ!!...and Amoebe too!!
Cheers....

If you're talking for free: Brams SupaPhaser is excellent sounding also (imo).Cabinfever wrote:This and the Kjaerhus 'classic phaser' are the two best phasers available imho. Anyone have other favourites that stack up against these ?
If you're willing to pay some dosh ohmforces Mobilohm is a phaser & then some, again only my opinion.
This phaser is also sweet though

I've sent an email to amoebe to see if he can add a few more stage settings - 4 and 18 - to the NxtPhase GUI. If he can, I'll add 4-stage and 18-stage process loops.brok landers wrote:yes, pj, i tried the 6 stage of course, but it sounds too phased allready, compared to 4 stage ... i mean, don't get me wrong, it sounds good!pj geerlings wrote:Brok - have you tried the 6-stage setting - it's like 4 -- only betterbrok landers wrote:thanks, nice gui, nice sound!

reverse the polarity on the phasers - classic trekkie joke.
The other night, I couldn't get my car to start. I solved the problem by reversing the polarity of the car battery, and routing the power through my satellite dish. The resulting subspace plasma caused a rift in the space-time continuum, which created a quantum tunnelling effect that charged the protons in the engine core, thus starting my car. Child's play, really. As a happy side-effect, I also now get the Spice Channel for free.

OK - I have had a great time working with amoebe on NuBi / Spinner for the past few years - and we will continue that, if the gods are willing ...
But the NxtPhase project and this thread have got to be the most fun I've had in a long time and the thanks should be shared equally between amoebe and all the wonderful people who have posted here.
thank you all!

The (very) newest beta version can now do 4/6/8/10/12/14/16/18 phaser stages
NxtPhase has a Slightly improved classic GUI by amoebe
The presets are still a work in progress, in any case ...
Right-click here/Save Target As ... ( NOTE: Edit for bug fix - thanks again Admiral! )
peace,
