i was looking for samplers synths. and a host for a PDA or pocket PC. i was considering getting one because i am out and about and i am sitting around listening to music, i would like to use my time making beets when i am on the go. Is there any kind of software or even a portible sampler/drum machine i should look for?

the only software i know+use,
is syntrax...
it is a 50/50-mix between a classic-tracker+FL-studio,
you can add more instruments by adding wav-oneshots,
similar like using fl-sampler...
it's available free:
for pc and s60-smartphones,
and the pocket-pc version is available
for only $20 usd ...

simply try the free pc-version (that comes with a pocket-pc-emulator),
and check if you like it or not..

Maybe not what you're after, but thought I'd mention there is a version of PureData for PDA's running Linux:
http://gige.xdv.org/pda/
The site has links to decent Linux distributions, if you need one.
