Does this mean we can re-do the 63 step knobs with 300 degree rotation? That would be pretty cool!amoebe wrote:It all started when I decided to improve my scripting files to accept user input. Before that the angles and # frames were hardcoded. Then I thought it a waste to only use 270 degrees where almost 360 were possible. It all started when I wanted a larger number of steps in a knob control - insteat of 63, I wanted 101 ( 0% to 100% ) and the result was the current knob stepping and sweep.
I didn't know the software needed to be adapted for it, though. I thought the animation would handle that.
peace,

I'm still not getting what relationship you feel the number of frames has to the rotation angle. You could make 300 degree knobs with 3 frames, or 300. [Edit: or with 4 frames... Or 42... or 43... Just as long as its more than 1 and less than way too many. Odd numbers are nice because they give you one that's straight up.] Would function exactly the same, just with MUCH chunkier motion on the 3 version.pj geerlings wrote:Does this mean we can re-do the 63 step knobs with 300 degree rotation? You can get everything under 360 degrees with any amount of rotation frames above 3 (I think the max framenumber is 65536). There is no direct relation between the framenumbers and the rotation angle, except the transition between frames should look smooth IMO.Does this mean we can re-do the 63 step knobs with 300 degree rotation? That would be pretty cool!

That's how the whole thing started - just an experiment with NuBi Plus. BTW - NuBi Plus has both 8-stage and 12-stage phaser options for vibrato (and, for the Hammond purists, the percussion is still not routed through the vibrato)asseca wrote:Hi pj, this latest version sounds lovely with NuBiLE.
Vibrato switched off, seems to give most effective sound ...
amoebe rocks - no question about it!asseca wrote:Thanks amoebe for a really original GUI ...

It does work pretty well - nice subtle effect with elec piano too - definitely a keeper this one.asseca wrote:Hi pj, this latest version sounds lovely with NuBiLE.
