The full version with Rex Apple Loops & Wave will be released in June. However, I have some good news. We're doing some limited editions in just REX and in just Apple Loops as well for a little less. The REX edition is being released beginning of next week! It may go on line as early as tomorrow. SURPRISE!

Whew... over 5,000 killer fresh loops. So much fun and so darn easy to put together. This is one of the most diverse rex collections around. Demos going up this week. Good timing for a thread! I was just going to post about this.

Oh...and I'm not trying to bug you but there was gonna be an update to the SPSE...any word on that?

I notice that you've been "absent" from KVR...I can only hope that means good things and not that you've got some crap to deal with...

Best,
Rob

Been absent because we've been working our tails off. (or tentacles). Boy, RAW is just KILLER. It is rediculous. Such a variety of loops from all over the place. It is so much fun (even just working on demos is easy and a lot of fun... you get inspired and want to write!).

SPSE is being worked on but the hold up is our method of Apple Loops conversion. Argh! There were some issues with sample rates in SPSE that we've conquered but then there are some other issues/concerns with original tempo vs. playback tempo. Tricky stuff actually. Kind of a PITA. The conversion in Logic for Rex2 to Apple Loops works pretty good but I have heard from one of the guys that it seems to be only for 16 bit AL and not 24. We wanted to do it in 24 though. Any Logic experts want to chime in on that one I am all ears! But, the tool we were using before is actually the alpha version of the RAW Converter. There's a RAW Manager software and a RAW Converter. The converter actually won't come with RAW Universal Groove Kit. It will be a sep thing or part of a deluxe bundle and will come a bit later. Although we're using it in house at the moment. However, it may (hopefully out of the gate) come with the RAW Manager which is a really deep database software that can pull out just what you want fast and easy out of over 5,000 loops. The Studio ProFile grooves will also be databased with this system to so you can amass an ENORMOUS collection of loops (not to mention use the tool to database your own loops from other sources) and easily be able to find what you're looking for. Pretty cool eh? We're excited about it.

We've expanded the range of stereo Studio ProFile titles to cover almost every genre in existence including a lot of Urban styles, Electronic and others besides just acoustic drum styles. We're going to release those first because most people really want good stereo files and secondly we need the money! As it turns out this has gotten EXTREMELY expensive to do! No one has gone quite to this extent in terms of artists, styles, formats, programming and everything else. It takes a LOT of effort! But, it is so worth it. The end result of this is going to be so useful for music production. It is going to open doors for a lot of things creatively. I am even just excited for myself using it. If I were you guys I'd buy them all! Lol. Of course I would say that but it's true. I mean, if you could afford it. To be able to pull out this sound or that sound, this drummer or that drummer and mix and match elements of different styles... wow that is production power!

So, I know a lot of the experts are waiting for the multitrack versions. They will come out one at a time because there is so much work involved. I believe the first one will be John Blackwell and the second will be British Rock. Both of those are stellar! They'll be out in the Summer. Then we'll see maybe one multi-track title a month after that more or less. However the stereo titles will come out in batches of maybe 5 or more at a time starting in June!!!! SR is gonna get loopy!

We're also releasing a ton of downloadable sound packs of loops in Rex2 (optimized for Stylus RMX and Reason) as well as Apple Loops, Acidized Wave, SampleTank 2 and more.

The SPSE update will be free and I believe we will have it some time next month. Some bonuses on it (and of course it can be used still as full credit toward any of the new stuff!).

The interesting thing about RAW is that it is such a melting pot. You can really experiment with mixing different styles and it all syncs up. So you can go for straigh rock or something OR some kind of electronic music with rock guitars in it or some kind of trip hop thing or R&B with full brass... It has to be one of the fastest tools to get a song going that I have seen. Definitely a good "go to" set. Also, the groove elements are really fun. There are quite a few of those and you can create your own beats out of hi hat, kick and snare and a TON of individual percussion from all over the world or electronic stuff. Some wild sounds in 3D on there as well. We really went overboard on it. It pools from so many unique sources that it is a very unlikely combination. But, the way we did it was cherry picking loops from thousands of dollars of Qup Arts libs, cherry picking a bunch of things from various Studio ProFiles coming up and then a ton of loops that "had no home" from various sessions. Like for instance, when we'd be sampling a new drum kit for the hits the drummer might start jamming grooves for a bit. Maybe that sessions wasn't meant for getting grooves but there were some cool ones out of nowhere in it. So, I compiled all of those for example. It would have otherwise never been released! But such diversity in live drum loops because of that (I mean, no one would set up an entire kit, mics etc. just to record 10 loops... not unless they were sampling the drums or doing some other kind of music session!). There's also some grooves that people like Danny Gottlieb gave me that were done "after a session". So, he'd be doing some jazz gig and then after he'd say to the engineer "Hey, can you keep rolling for a bit? I want to do some grooves for Dave because it sounds great in this place".

So it is real diverse and has some rare material from all over the world in it. I am very proud of RAW Universal Groove Kit. I think it is going to be great value for the money too. The regular Rex Apple Loops and Wave version is coming some time toward the end of next month. But, the REX ONLY version is going to be available next week. In case anyone wanted to upgrade from the REX ONLY to the version with all three formats then the upgrade would only be the difference in price anyway. So, that means you can start enjoying it now as REX. It also means that if you wanted to save a little money and only wanted Rexes anyway then this is your chance for this limited time release.

A full sound list will be posted very soon and we're also going to give away some free loops from it for anybody to check out as well. Time to sink teeth into some new SR grooves!

Sure can.

Hey guys, what is your opinion here. Should we do a group buy on this REX RAW? (Rex Rexraw!!!! From Intolerable Cruelty! Never mind). Should we do that or just put it up for sale on esoundz? Not sure. I don't want to do one unless everyone got really into it. They're a lot of work. But, since this version isn't a retail product we perhaps could do a GB. I am just not sure if people are tired of GBs.

I would be in for the REX version. Right up my EXS or RMX alley!

Try it, I think your concerns will be proved groundless. The fever will rise again.
