Assume your sample frequency = 44100 Hz, so one second equals 44100 samples.
Divide by 1000 (convert seconds to ms) multiplied by 10.6 (the length you want) = 467.45 samples.

The other way round: 467 samples / 44.1 = 10.589 ms long.

Assume the sampling freq is 48kHz, a sample buffer size of 512 equals 10.66667 ms ;-)

To get the size in bytes of raw samples you have to multiply by 2 if it's 16bits or 4 if it's 32bits, and again by two if it's stereo. WAV files have some header overhead of variable size to add.

Hope that helps...

We realy need a music maths thread at KRV.

There's some calculators doing such jobs as well, WizooCalc coming to mind (not sure whether it exists anymore) and I also think there's one on the AnalogX site.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

There's a free calculater called S-Cal here....
