my sister's b-day in a min, she's babying so i being a cheap bastard made her a bunch of 'music' with my new plugs figuring comfort w/ confusing sounds would be beneficial for dealing with child rearing.

pretty thoughtless and probably done to death. used my (mainly newer) stuf + dtblkfx, dblueglitch, lost technology, smartelectronix stuf, free stuf. some 50's filmstrip voices, pig voices, stacey keech.

'hilites'
02 'the AT' used to have a nice heart-stopping broken beat effect but i piled more goop sounds on it and sorta killed that, might still be in there if you focus on the chewed up hats.

04 'cloth cap' rawest and ~more 'essential.'

06 'robots..' is only disordered snare and kick patterns repeated 2 or 4 times each for ~8 minutes.

the 'ambient' tracks are quick jobs with a few instances of lotus and mainly dtblkfx ('change patches, make another song..') posted cos 03 is just one sound that i thought nice, 02 has an effect in it i think created by feeding one odd temperament into a harmoniser effect that creates these little 'flute' riffs that shiver up and down. nice effect - thanks darrell

I had to smile at the film snippets - at least, the ones I could make out. "No-one's enjoyment is being interrupted with any problems for the moment"…

The first two tracks contain just enough to be oddly legible, despite their apparently deconstructivist tendencies. ("During the process of thinking, recognition occurs when some event, process, pattern, or object recurs. Thus in order for something to be recognized, it must be familiar. This recurrence allows the recognizer to more properly react, and has survival value.")

"cloth cap" - rubber spazmo funk. I like.

I can hear big-band drums, digital beefheart, negativland's sardonic clarity in these, but still unmistakeably you.

The second ambient piece is as eerily cold and mysterious as the first is warm and...'benevolent'. Both are quite hauntingly melancholic, rather sweet, and very pretty. There's something about home-made presents…I wouldn't say they're 'cheap' at all.

I didn't get anything else done at all whilst listening.

'You should do this more often'. I know, I know…but whether because or in spite of recent 'misfortunes', it seems you've become increasingly prolific (and I'd like to hear the other tracks too

). Apparently, you can't keep a rurik down.

nice selection of listening material, enjoyed it a lot.

"sympathy" is pretty cool

i like what you do with the vocal samples. nice glitchy effects too.

"robots" needs some editing IMHO - I'm not too fond of some of the clusters of bd - unless you're trying to mess up our minds and bellies with that. apart from that, nice piece.

I've done it to death for everyone.

I just lisetend to 08 ambient02. Very pretty, reminds of something called slow life down. Windchimes dark barks and distant airplanes divided or times 2.2
