Interesting. I know the Neon (not HR) only runs at 44/48, and that's all I work at. I have never seen individual plugin buffer sizes in Cubase, but I might just be missing it.feyshay wrote:It's more than just changing the sample buffer of the DAW. I was changing two things within Live 5--the sample rate of my MOTU Traveler (which was the soundcard running Live 5), and I would also change the plug-in sample rate. (I didn't even know I could do this until I complained about having problems with Neon HR crashing the program when I was using Max Res, or Medium Res in FAT mode.
PSP Neon running very slow

Thanks!feyshay wrote:I posted on Cubase.net. I'll see if I get any bites there.

Looks like they're saying the same thing I'm saying. I think you can set that in the newer, more flexible hosts like Live, Tracktion, et al.

Having used Live 5, and really liking that program, I would say that Cubase SX3 is more flexible. Live 5 is simpler and easier. I'll mess around with the HR version in Cubase SX3 and see if slowing the sample rate of is sufficient to run this thing at max options within Cubase. I have generally been using the HR with LP within Sound Forge 8.

By flexible I meant that in terms of adjusting buffers; I'm not saying a damn thing about hosts!feyshay wrote:Having used Live 5, and really liking that program, I would say that Cubase SX3 is more flexible. Let me know what you find out.

The manual for Neon says that PDC does not work in LP mode. They say for mixing that you should turn off LP mode. There is a table of sample rates and frequency resolution. It appears that for Standard Res (which is Neon) at 44.1 or 48kHz, that the sample rate would be 512. I'll bet if you group the rest of your tracks that are not running through Neon in LP mode and put a Voxengo Sample Delay set to 512 on the non-Neon group, that you would get things synchronized.

Yeah, that would probably do it. I'm so OK with the Standard Res, though - no need.feyshay wrote:The manual for Neon says that PDC does not work in LP mode. What I would like is if they made it possible to have the LP off by default. I don't like having my track pushed out of time when I first insert it.
