Hi

I want to audition Rex2 files before importing into Stylus RMX, is there any software that will let me do it quickly :?:

Thanks.

... some hosts - good point

Most browsers have autoplay functions that allow you to step through files and hear them quickly. Kontakt's browser does this, and I'm surprised to hear that Stylus doesn't have this function. Or does it?

Cubase plays REX files, but there's no real feature for auditioning (that I know of)other than just importing them and playing.

Hi Lads

Thanks for the replies, I've tried the demo of pHATmatik Pro, the loop preview works great with Waves but not with Rex2 :dog:

The RXP Rex player looks good in Sonar 5, anyone using it :?:

Cheers.

I think you need to convert the rex2 to SAGE in order to get Stylus to see your loops.
Before getting Stylus RMX (and converting all of my rex2 files to SAGE) I used to browse the rex2 files in Cubase by chosing files/import/audio file. A bit boring but it worked.

The new version of Phatmatik Pro, the izotope version works with Rex2 files. The previous Bitshift version did not.

You can audition Rex2 files in the Browser in FL Studio.

Logic let's you prelisten to REX files in song tempo without actually loading them (something Cubase doesn't do, AFAIR).
So does Concrete FX MicroDicer - IMO the most underrated beat slicer there is, especially considering the price.
I'm sometimes using ReCycle as well, but it's a pain to always adjust the tempo first. That's when MicroDicer really comes in handy.

I use it occasionally.
RXP is okay...easy to use.
It lets you drag and drop the midi files into a midi track in a similar way.

...can you buy it seperately?

Actually, at least in my SE3, if I browse for an audio file to import, it does audition the rex files...BUT...unlike Logic, NOT at the song tempo. Haven't tried it in Live as I haven't used Live for a while.
Play what you feel and feel what you play.

To me, prelistening in songtempo is absolutely crucial. Can't see much reasons for the big blokes (aka Steinberg, Native Instruments) not being able to manage that whereas a 30 buck plugin (aka MicroDicer) is doing the job just fine.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try that.
