Can anyone explain step-by-step how to use Sampletank as a multi-instrument in Logic Pro 7?

It doesn't work... The old version did, but they still haven't fixed 2.1! ...it doesn't work in Logic, 7.1.1 anyway, seems like they said it worked in 7.2.1 but I haven't tried that yet

There are two ways, one of which is not commonly known, but I prefer it greatly:

1. Insert Sampletank as you would any other instrument. Let's say that you have it in Audio Instrument 1.
2. In the arrange page, create a track for Audio Instrument 1. Press control shift return (key command may vary, of course). You now have another track for Audio Instrument 2.
3. In the Arrange page's Parameters Box, under the Channel menu, select Instrument 1. In the MIDI Chan parameter, select midi channel 2.

You now have a track addressing MIDI Channel 1 of Sampletank, and a second track addressing Channel 2. Reiterate as necessary. I prefer this method because I don't have to go over to the environment and create objects, etc.

Finally something that works. Thanks a lot. I'll forward to IK Multimedia tech support. They were unable to help. Thanks again.

That is an awesome solution!

The Object UI in Logic has always been cumbersome to me.

As an aside--is there a Logic Pro forum here at KVR? There really should be. The user group run through Yahoo has many great contributor's but the format of the subject thread/message chain is not as well designed as the KVR site--which is excellent IMO.

Uh, while that will work... the way it's supposed to work: you select ST as a "Multi" instrument... then assign it's channels to the AUX busses... But IK won't fix it, and don't seem to care, so basically your just loading more instances of it...

By the way, I used the same method with Miroslav Philharmonik (which isn't a multi-instrument). It works great!
