Isn't this the difference between work and hobby? :D

Anyway, this isn't true any more. I've completed all the hardware projects actually on the website:
- analog synth
- hw controllers
- this one (being serious, it is complete and tonight I'll record some audio demo)
... and:
- audio samples
- convolution vst

What is in alpha/beta are synths. They get slow development because all my projects are driven by interest. When the feedback slows down, the project delays... :)

... there is another important point I was forgetting about:
It is very easy to reach 50%, easy to reach 75%, hard to reach 99%, almost impossible to reach 100%.
Isn't the most famous of all, "Synth1", in beta (or alpha???)?
This is why you see so many starting projects and so few completing...

Hey! I understand what you mean! :)

This is the point: every project comes to a point where it requires a big effort to go on and I need to find the right moment to do it.
New project go on fast, to the first big obstacle. In the meanwhile I find a solution for the previous one...

Don't believe that I abandon a project for the new one and so on! The previous one is simply sleeping waiting for a solution (an algo, a bug removal, help from somebody...) or a possibility (holidays)

There are so many because I get material from my everyday job and put it here (nothing similar to music, anyway ) :)

Please don't stop looking at the website now that everything is going to completion! (believe me  )

Thank you ttoz :D

About this one: I'm testing the amplifier together with the VST now: I'M IMPRESSED... :-o

I really need somebody who can suggest me an effective way to record a Leslie. I need to put these results on the website but I don't know how...
There are 400W wobbling around my house, while some Hammond chords are played by eXT...

I can use these:
- large diafragm condenser multipattern mic
- ribbon "8-pattern" mic
- small diafragm condenser mic

any suggestion??? I suppose that a simple stereo recording wouldn't be enough...

I'm spoiled ... my real Hammond has a real Leslie (well, close enough - Motion Sound Pro-3T+Low-Pro).

On the other hand, the Motion Sound stack alone weighs over five times what may laptop + MIDI controller weigh. And the A-105? Probably 450 lbs (C-3 church case + A-100 power amp, reverb amp, speakers and speaker mounting board).

Logic is a pretty flower that smells bad - Spock, in "I, Mudd"

Do you record your Leslie? How do people mic it on stage?
I really would like to be able to transfer the results on the web...

This thing is about 20kg...

***edit***
I weighted it: it _is_ 20 kg...

Electronic Musician magazine had a very detailed article several years ago - between 2000 and 2003 if I recall correctly (I played in a trio with a killer B3 player at the time), on the proper ways to record Leslie. I will see if I can find the article on the web.

Found it:

The print article had some diagrams on the mic placement but this article should start you well on your way.

Thanks a lot, Scott! Printed it.

I must say that yesterday I had quite an emotion when switching it on for the first time and playing the first chords. I've never seen a Leslie, so this one already is a big step forward. The main thing is that the whole room becomes an effect... Now I understand why some organ bits sound so exciting while I couldn't get it by a keyboard...

I must say thank you to my neighbours... they never complain for noises by night... :D

This time I did it big... :)

Here is the first simple audio demo.

http://www.sknote.it/download/RealLS_Audio_1.mp3

No effects added.

4 chords loop, repeating: stop, slow, fast, with some notes on...
Recorded in mono by means of a large dia condenser mic with "8" pattern, one lobe to the amp, the other one to the wall.

(some clicks are from the recording, not the effect)
