 I just bought InspectorXL a few months ago. Luc7ily the current version serves me well.

As mentioned it seems they are not continuing InspectorXL and let's be honest, even if they were, they can stick their iLok where the sun don't shine.

I'm so shocked about this info right now, WOW ! :( I'm just so glad I never bought their EQ or dynamics plugins.

For what it's worth, here would be my replacements...

Equim - Voxengo GlissEQ & Kjaerhus GEQ (for the great high / low pass filters that Equim didn't have). Sonalksis EQ is also top end

Neodynmin - Meh ... just use a good compressor like GCO by Kjaerhus or Marquis by Voxengo.

Finis - Once again, MPL1 or Elephant totally DESTROY this limiter.

Firium - Voxengo CurveEQ totally destroys this plugin too, on all levels, matching, sound .etc.

InspectorXL - Closest is SPAN, but Inspector is a lot better than SPAN imho, having a level meter for the K system is a lot lot lot more handy than just having a numerical average like SPAN. Also there are way more options in Inspector. InspectorXL is still a keeper for me.

What a DICKHEAD!! I've read a lot of this guy's stuff
in EQ and used to have a fair amount of respect for him, but
this is one lamest moves I've ever seen from a music professional....and man is that ever saying something!! :D

I just had to leave 'ol Rog a love note at his RND forum. @Kritikon:

you can never predict when any of these small companies might go belly up, nor for what reasons. Just because they got bought out doesn't mean that they would not have inevitably closed shop... and that pretty much applies to everything. Software gives people the notion that updates will be infinate (not talking to you personally btw). For one's sanity, imo it's better to kinda go with the flow... milk the situation for what it's worth... until it's absolutely necessary to make a shift. At some point, a shift is usually required.. regardless.

I bought phatmatik ages ago... guess when the last time I saw a phatmatik update? I bought Jeskola XS-1 (at the time probably the best sound font player)... it went poof too. Haven't seen any updates to any of the ohm plugins I bought... but they are still functional.

It's a weird kinda paranoia. I simply don't subscribe to it. Change is constant. Nothing is forever. ;) The elemental plugs are great. The new situation sucks... but I won't update to iLok, and I won't cry over it either for said reasons.

Oh btw, the EA stuff is serial protected so there's no c/r or dongle crap to stop you from using everything in future as long as new hosts continue to support VST 2.3

I often purchase commercial plugins because I assume that they will be supported in the long-term ... obviously this is a false conception.
