Recently read an interview with Thomas Brinkmann ( http://www.discogs.com/artist/Thomas+Brinkmann ). He gave the tip to attenuate 10.200 / 10.400 Hz to reduce digital harshness...

It's really important that you plan ahead what you want out of the recording. You just can't have both an enhanced in the extremes mix and an "analog" "warm" sounding mix.

This point being less the method of recording (that the person who started this thread uses Reason, so I doubt they're multitracking instruments

) and more the "phat analog sound" scam of the early 21st century, perpetuated by consensual hallucination and questionable marketing tactics.

You can almost completely replicate the sound of hi end analog audio processing gear, tube mics, and reel to reel tape, but it requires a bank of 10 P4 compters and an hour of offline processing per track-minute.
