what is the latest on RAW?

Well, given that we can upgrade to the full version (with Manager and Converter)from the REX version without added cost, I'm likely to buy the REX version next week. I'd always be into a Group Buy to reduce overall cost to yours truly. I'm in either way. Just don't make the GB run too long....I'd prefer not to wait for the REX stuff more than necessary.

Hey guys, what is your opinion here. Should we do a group buy on this REX RAW? (Rex Rexraw!!!! From Intolerable Cruelty! Never mind). Should we do that or just put it up for sale on esoundz? Not sure. I don't want to do one unless everyone got really into it. They're a lot of work. But, since this version isn't a retail product we perhaps could do a GB. I am just not sure if people are tired of GBs.

my two cents, I only bought in the last group buy because I can apply the price for the RAW.... all I am interested in for RAW are the rex files.....so basically for me at least.....

which would be cheaper the group buy, or the regular buy with my discount from the last group buy......

Well, that's good to know u guys are into us doing another GB. I think for this one we'll just release it and not do a GB because it is so cheap already and plus you wouldn't have to wait. However, we may do another GB soon perhaps on either OmniSoundz 2 or that quirky instrument one... we'll see! But, yeah let's talk some more and also if anyone can help spread the word about RAW Rex Edition that would be great (and maybe you can get yourself some epointz in the process on referals). It is designed to be easily compatible with Stylus RMX because each folder has 61 or less files in it etc. Works great in Reason too. Kontakt. Logic/EXS, Cubase...

The full version with Rex Apple Loops & Wave will be released in June. However, I have some good news. We're doing some limited editions in just REX and in just Apple Loops as well for a little less.

Does "limited edition" as used in your quote mean that it is the same content as the full RAW but in Rex format only or that it is a smaller collection from the overall RAW library in addition to being only in Rex format?

Cool. I talked to Glenn and Eric who are great and they gave me a few pointers. I think it is a nice addition to Stylus RMX. Different kind of material for the most part. There's some good electronics stuff but a whole lot of clean acoustic drums and percussion in there which you could have some fun using the Stylus RMX effects with I am sure. We even designed the whole library to be easy import compatible with Stylus RMX. That meant a lot of extra work actually but it is an established popular sampler format now so since that is what Sonic Reality does (third party sample support for samplers) then it just makes sense. Friendly competition aside. I like it better when products work together than stay in isolation anyway. Flexibility is nice.

or maybe a choice by style?
Could also be done as a promo action.

b) like it and want more? Get the whole thing for the price minus download price of one package...

We have a ton of downloadable sound packs coming, some from RAW and some/many are RAW outtakes and some from Studio ProFiles.

The problem with doing a group buy on this is that it is already cheap. Then if you factor in the credit we're giving/eating from the SP-SE well it'd be entirely possible to LOSE money! As it is we'll be taking a hit with hundreds of people using their credit toward it just to buy it (end up being lower than half price after that). But, that's ok. At least we won't be actually losing money. We are running a business! The Studio ProFiles SE was really something that should have been credit toward a specific Studio ProFile title. But, you know how we are liberal and generous, flexible etc. However, that made it not really possible to do a group buy on it. I mean, unless we didn't allow the credit to be used on it I suppose. But, then that would be taking that back and I didn't want to do that. Can of worms!!!! So, we were thinking we'd just do a GB on something else that doesn't even have anything to do with a credit. Then this can just go on sale. As it is the REX version will be available for a limited time for only around $150 (the full MSRP of RAW with all three formats is $249.). With many people getting $80 credit that makes it only around $70!!!! For over 5,000 killer Rex files????? I mean, that is pretty amazing. I hope you guys are happy. It took us FOREVER to do this.

Btw, we're still working on the SP SE free update. Hold up is Apple Loop conversion at the moment. Giving us problems. But, we'll get past it.

looking forward to the $70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is it possible to put a pdf of the loops on it when you put it online tomorrow? Looking forward to it, ALTHOUGH I must add that I was very dissapointed with the SP SE.......it seemed like a demo product for me and I have never once used any loop in anything I have done....my problem with it was that too much variety, and not enough detail... of course this review was submitted to esoundz.com and 'strangely' never appeared ....
looking forward to RAW/REX....hoping that there are seperated elements of each loop mix.

I'm happy, and I get your point about the problems of a GB on the "REX only" RAW.

A question for you, I know you said "REX-only", but would that include the MIDI files too?

We were tempted to do the slices/midi export but it ends up being a MILLION tiny samples and takes forever to copy to your hard drive. This was another thing about the Studio ProFiles Special Edition that I didn't like (of course that was even with multiple tracks!!). We were experimenting there to see if that was a good thing to offer. I think it depends how big the library is. On the individual Studio ProFile titles I think we WILL offer the slices and midi. On RAW and REXRAW we will not be putting the slices/midi on the disc. Too cumbersome. However, most rex players can output the midi part anyway. For instance, with Dr. Rex you can send the midi to a track and same with Kontakt and I think Stylus RMX too. Of course if you have Recycle or Beat Quantizer (which is amazing btw) then you can with that. But, also with the advanced RAW Manager/Converter you will also be able to batch export slices and midi (with these and any of your other rex files... nice utitlity huh? Can't do that in Recycle or BQ).

I should clear up some confusion though. Previously I had hinted that this app would come with RAW the full version. I don't think it will be. The one that comes with it is stripped down and mostly a database tool. There will be utitlities that related to it that will be sold separately (because our plans are to go pretty far with that). HOWEVER, being the fun KVR forum what I will do for you guys is allow this small window of opportunity. If you buy RAW REX EDITION before the end of this month then I will give you the software when/if it comes out for free. I say if because you never know. It is in development but it does some things that nothing else does so you never know if it will finally do what we want it to do. I hope so! It's a little tricky. But, for what it is worth we do need to reach a certain number for this month on esoundz so if that is a tiny bit of extra incentive. Okay, fine, I will add in one other "secret" bit of incentive for you. Neither of these will be announced by esoundz on newsletters or on the site. So this will only be honored if you heard about it from me or through word of mouth which you are free to spread (but starting from our beloved KVR forum which is full of these kind of fun surprises).
