slicing of single samples => detection of start & end

Hey,

does anybody know a tool, which detects the beginning and ending of a sample?

All the slicing-tools detect the beginning only
The result is that there's much silence after the sample until the new sample begins.

WaveKnife only can work with 16 bit audio, I need 24 bit.
