I've uploaded a new version of VSTHost to

which, IMO, isn't ready for release yet.
It has a new feature that needs some more testing - a built-in MIDI file player. I've tested it with quite a lot of Format 0/1 files, and it should work with Format 2 files, but I don't have any for testing. Plus, the MIDI file format allows for SMPTE time base specifications, which aren't correctly implemented yet.
So: if somebody wants to test it and report sucess/failure, or has MIDI files in the mentioned formats, please do so. eMail to office at hermannseib dot com would really be appreciated.
