I have more than 30, and after I'd gotten a good many of them I realized I'd need to be more methodical about keeping track of lisences, activation codes, etc.

It's not that hard, and I much prefer it to paying to get a piece of hardware that I have to hang on my computer. Elemental Audio claims they have people asking for that, and Nomad Factory calls it a "service" to their customers (the last bundle of plugins they released, which I demo'ed and think are quite good, require and iLok).

I created a folder on my computer where I keep a copy of all the activation codes, the files I got attached to e mails from Kjaerhus to activate their plugins, and WordPad documents on which I paste all the strings of numbers I got in e mails from IK, Wave Arts, Voxengo etc when I authorized their plugins. I'd rather do that and have no need for the "service" that companies with iLok protection schemes offer.

I own Inspector XL and got Firium in EA's recent "any plugin for $72" customer appreciation offer. They work great and I'm in no current need of support or update. But I'm concerned about trouble down the road.

First time i've seen public outcry on the net cause a drop in prices, and thats very encouraging.

hey, and i do what i can too. tieing my name the uad-1's plugins has likely kept their prices way down.

That NuGen audio one looks like quite good. Someone has to get that binaural head thing going on, though.

I could never have said it better than that! You got me going ROFL, then becoming serious again: I agree with you, WTF it's all about making some tunes with it.

Well, I think you haven't considered a couple of things:

1) other people may not feel as confortable as you about telling others the way you do. Maybe it's more common than you suspect.
2) I'm not that sure that you are not breaking the user agreement by installing the cracked version, even if you paid for the license.
