In the General settings dialog there is a drop down menu that shows a few choices (red clock, small steps, etc) these are all based on folders in that skins folder.

You can take any of the bmps in those folders into some thing like photoshop to change them. (Be careful, most of them are indexed 8 bit files, so keep track of your colors)

As far as what you can skin, you can change the appearance of all of the top panels safely. Now, by skin, i mean you can re-style them, you can't actually reposition the elements in any particular box. You can change the borders around the step sequencer, and some parts of the mixer.

you can do this already, just click the top left hand corner of the mixer and then pick "save mixer track state" then you can load that effects chain to any mixer track whenever you want.

takes 2 clicks though sorry ;)

Just thought of this:

1. When using the slicer, and you click within the slice to hear the sample, I think that the slice should only play to your cursor (your potential slice point), instead of to the end of the slice.

2. With the wavetraveler - would be cool if you could slice up a wave similar to slicer, and it would get mapped across the keyboard (the slices), starting at the currently selected key. That, or send all of the slices, in one click, to wavetraveler from the slicer.

I wish there was an option to clear and reset a mixer channel without having to go through all the inserts and sliders 1 by 1.

mixer presets -> default

works nicely

would like to have the option of lowering/rising all the volumes in the mixer together but in the current state not reseting them all to the default setting!
ex.25 tracks in the mixer with different volume settings but needs lowering cause they clip!
instead of using the master fader to lower the overall volume u could use this function to lower all the chanell sliders at once and avoid using the master volume!

Well only drawback for me is that i can't use nothing like UAD or Poco. Yes i know for manual PDC but UAD wont work until you choose "use fixed size buffers" but then if you use it you cant render that way because it will have delay anyway. So it is unusable in that area which is shame.

I was browsing today for that subject on looptalk and i found this message which is from UAD staff. I believe you will find that FL has been pretty "cold" this time which is unprofessional at least to me  They could manage some cooperation. Eh...Sorry for bad typing. This message is 2.years old Here is TXT:

I found the following message in the tech support forum... Well, at least we know whether PDC will be in FL6 or not. I understand, and I'm not too disappointed. I just thought others might like to know as well, so that they don't have their hopes dropped. FL6 is still going to be a GREAT update. Remember that everyone!

Hello UAD-1/FL users and FL developers..!

My name is Jor van Gelder, PC QA Manager from Universal Audio. We have many users of our product UAD-1 Powered Plug-Ins who are interested in greater compatibility with FL. Currently, the plug-ins work well within FL except for two compatibility issues:

1. All UAD-1 Powered Plug-Ins always introduce latency. (as do all other plug-ins powered by standalone PCI DSP processors. Other professional plug-ins also introduce latency, esp. those which feature look-ahead processing).

The introduced latency is 2 x ASIO buffer size (when VST plug-ins are running at the ASIO buffer size).

Will FL soon feature "Plug-In Delay Compensation", similar to the Logic Audio, Cubase, Nuendo, Samplitude and SONAR host applications?

This is particularly becoming important with the new mixing features of FL Studio.

2. We are encountering a problem with .wav export in FL 3.56. Our plug-ins currently will be automatically bypassed during export because of the following restriction:

Because our Plug-In DSP code is executed on a PCI card, we have a
restriction that all UAD plugins must operate with the same buffer size.
The UAD plugins will detect and set the operating buffer size when
audio starts in the application.

A smaller buffer than expected is OK, but must only be encountered once the
maximum buffer size is set by the intial buffers. For example, the end of a loop
may use a small buffer. The UAD plugins play audio correctly in this situation.

If a buffer comes in that is larger than the operating buffer size of the UAD card,
the buffer size mismatch error will occur, and the UAD plugins run in bypass.
The plugins remain in bypass until the audio is stopped.

When the audio is stopped, the operating buffer size of the card is cleared.
When audio starts again, the initial buffer is measured and that value is
used to set the operating buffer size for the card. This allows the user
to change buffer sizes within the application or on thier Audio device
without having to reload the plugins.

It appears the FL .wav export is beginning with an intial buffer size that is smaller than the subsequent buffer(s).

FL Developers, please feel free to contact me directly for further details regarding compatibility.

I think I've said this before, but seriously, why dont any generator channels (sampler, 3xOsc, etc) have a decent HP Filter? I love FL Studio but seriously it's 2006 and the generators need an HP filter that goes all the way down. Especially since there are like 8 LP filters.

I've got a cool idea but i'm not sifting through 19 pages to see if it's been stated before. How about a way to network Fl (over a network, or the internet) to allow for 'jamming' with other people. You could have it transfer and samples that are added and watch in real time as new patterns are added. It could support like 2-4 people. Some pretty interesting music could be made like this.

...yes, that does work very well indeed :D I have to start making proper use of drag and drop browser functions. Apparently I'm one of those morons who doesn't read the manual very well  CHEERS!!!

What possible downfall is there to lowering the master volume or master master volume?

lowering the master volume isnt the best way to avoid clipping the master channel!
also reduces bitrate i think!

many syquencers do that why not fl!
im sure its not a big problem to be added!

- Better tech support
- Easy skin changes (like eXT) or even a contrast slider
- Large mixer controls
- PDC
- Freeze

There is already the Collab-Software for this (comes with the FL Studio installer).
It's not realtime but exatcly for what it says (including chat etc.) :)
