nice, I will check that out. bluecatonline, I presume that a plugin controlling other plugs automation tracks in real time is not possible with SX and/or VST 2.3?
If you find a way to do it I'd be happy :).

I know that even if the plug-in sent MIDI events to the host it would not work (not many hosts support MIDI events re-routing).

Not sure but I think I have heard that EnergyXT (it can be used as a plug-in) would allow you to use it in real time, but on the same track only I presume.

maybe using some kind of space boy technology
a detector plugin and a wrapper plugin that receives the signal from the detector one

Yes sure, you are right. I was just talking about a "native" support from the host.

Don't have to be sorry! It's a good suggestion. Sorry if my reply did not seem very polite....

In cubase if I load a plugin, LiveSlice for example, and then create a midi track I can choose LiveSlice as a midi input.
I can load a plugin into out 1 channel of LiveSlice, PSP Nitro for example, and then send to it via a midi channel the cc data from LiveSlice... So, it seems that it could be possible to make a envelope follower plugin that sends midi in the same way. I least I hope it is, and that someone has made it :)

There are already such plugins around (as effects):

MDSP's env2midi
Tobybear's Peak Freak

Thanks for the info. I know it's possible to output MIDI, it's just I thought that Cubase did not support it (not all hosts support MIDI cc output re-routing).

env2midi seems to be exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

Bump because that's some seriously useful plugin.
