The upgrade version, from previous versions, has already started shipping. Copies for owners of EMU sound/midi cards are also listed at EMU's own internet shop. Dont know about the from-new copies, though.

You can currently upgrade from Emulator X ($80) or buy X2 straight up ($250). The $250 option assumes you already have a piece of E-MU hardware (0404, 1212M, Xboard, 2x2 USB MIDI interface, etc.) hooked up to your computer. The retail version (which includes the MIDI interface) isn't listed on their site. The hardware is used as a dongle for the all-software sampler (Creative decided that E-MU had to link their software with their hardware, but I'm not complaining too loud - at least it's useful hardware).

the X1 is probably going for cheap atm...i'm guessing no more than US$200, most likely less...the upgrade at $80 is, at that point a fair bargain....from all reports, the drivers are stable with the cards, never had a prob with mine....stale bread wrote:ok can you upgrade from emulator x version 1 or is it different hardware too cause i was thinking about picking up the emulator x 1 this week?
