Hi,

This might be a newbie question but I just installed Cubase and I am using Yamaha S80 as my controller and I can't get it to control my VST's but yet I could in Fruityloops. I can hear and record from the S80 no problem but that is it. Is there something I am missing. I also notice that with my VSt's that have onscreen keyboard's there is a lag which I didn't have with Fruityloops, why?

Which version of Cubase?
Computer?
Soundcard?

cubase is a bitch to set up

I had absolutely no problems setting up cubase jw.

To use a VSt instrument you have to load the instrument in the VST instrument bay.

Create a midi track. Have the input as your keybaord and the output as your selected instrument.

I was up, recording music and felt comfortable in about 2 hours. Worst part was setting up the sound card. After that, it was pretty easy.

I thought it was the easiest to be honest.
