New VST offering Semi-parametric 10-Band Vintage inspired EQ with Volume preserving technology

Adelaide, SA (May. 23, 2006) - Crysonic today announced the release and availability of CRY 'Q VST plug-in for PC windows host applications. Inspired by Vintage EQ's, CRY 'Q captures and recreates as close as possible the sound and character from some of the most popular classic EQ's in the past. Combining this ability with an intuitive user interface and a ' volume-preserving ' feature that enables the user to hear what the EQ section is doing without a significant boost or cut in the perceived loudness.

CRY 'Q significantly reduces the sterile digital sound that is found in most other EQ's and is ideal for recording, mastering, mixing, restoration, audio post production and track sweetening.

Please note that Mac OSX versions (AU Universal Binary) of all our current plug-ins will be released by late-July, including re-release of All our current VST's in native VST format when we complete our migration to a new development structure. All these updates will be free to all our new and current customers.

Until this date (late-july) we still have three other plug-ins that will be released which are developed with our current structure.

Wavelab is not officially supported yet, however we encourage you to download the demo and test CRY'Q with your own system if you are running wavelab. If the demo functions OK, then the full version should work.

Does that mean, now that Cry'Q is out, that you work on the bugs of Spectralive and Spectra'Q or - even better - the C++ versions?

We Wavelab users still kinda wait for bugfixes though.

Sounds great! Only drawback is the CPU consumption, which makes it difficult to use it as a regular mixing EQ even on highend machines. Still, at that price it's a no-brainer.

Cry'Q has some additions and some omissions compared to Spectra'Q. Cry'Q is a modified version of the EQ section found in Spectra'Q that allows changing of the band-frequencies including the addition of Volume-preservation while tweaking feature. Cry'Q does not include the limiter/loudness maximizer, multiband harmonics or the phase-adjustment sections found in Spectra'Q. If you are not using all the features of Spectra'Q or need to be able to change the frequencies of each individual bands then Cry'Q is a good option as it is also lighter in CPU consumption. Last but not least it is almost half the price.

Yes it does

however as I have mentioned the scheduled date for the ported releases is around mid to late july (They will be all a free upgrade) Until that date we still have three other plug-ins that will be released which are developed with our current structure. We will be releasing another plugin today. We already have a native VST version of Spectralive and currently working on the Mac OSX port's.

i sure wish spectra q had the changing of band frequencies and other features to make it a stronger eq.I almost feel like i have to buy two plugs to get the features of one great one. But i like the plugs alot so i'll buy again

wait wait wait wait... a VST version of Spectralive, and we don't have any upgrades on that yet (like, where to get it)?

Nah really... If we "registered" users have access to bundle deals and "pricedrops" as low as 40%, I really wait till everything is out as VST, then do intensive tests and see what I'll get.

But it really turns out that your SE versions have serious problems with Wavelab, this is why I still hesitate as mentioned over and over in my mails.

You should also send your stuff over to magazines as soon as everything is out (like Sound on Sound, Future Music, Sound&Recording Germany). I really want to know what those people think about your tools, too.

Thanks for the sugestion ttoz, and yes they will utilize sse/sse2.

The upgrades will be free to all our current customers now and until the ported releases, however there will most certainly be price increases when they are released. This is a great time to purchase our plugins if you like to save money.

We have sent out NFR copies of all our current plugins to the magazines you have mentioned, Sound on Sound are in the review process at the moment. Thanks again!
