You going to loan them your filter code? :)

I'm sure we could come to some arrangement if we thought enough people would appreciate an SR202 module.

Anyway, this is getting a bit OT :?

I had a look at tha tPolish software, and despite cosmetic similarities to CDXtract it seems to be a very different beast indeed. I liked the sample tank import - in conjunction with Awave I was able to get Sampletank Free sounds up and running in DS404 with the minimum of fuss. Now that's a lot of fun 8)

Sorry about that, Dave.

Will you be trying to get Neutron support in AWave as well? For its launch date, perhaps. That would be pretty handy...

And I agree with you that Extreme Sample Convertor is pretty handy as an adjunct to AWave...

Wow. I already owned AWave so I'm very happy with DS404. But I'm very thankful for the link to Extreme Sample Converter also. Want to translate SampleTank for $25? F&#cking cool! :D

Putting this one on my 'list'

Many thanks Crossinger.

Ooooh, by the way. I'd definitely love Neutron export in AWave.

Hmm. Given the complexity of a Neutron patch (it stores rythmn info for the loaded loops as well as the samples, slice data, synth data etc.) there'd be no real easy conversion. Simple patches would work, but I wouldn't be too optimistic overall. Sorry folks.

Cheers
Dave

Post

Well I'm only actually talking about simple patch conversion as I'm talking about export to Neutron. The benefit of using other drum sampler formats in Neutron is what's inspiring me at the moment.

Again, I can certainly ask Markus. I'm sure if 8.7 sells well to registered CM plugin users it shouldn't be too much trouble :D

I downloaded this today, since I've got several thousand soundfonts and wanted to force them into DS404. So was gonna buy Awave (but the 25% tax thingy was putting me off).

But with this program I can throw them straight into Sampletank. Fantastic.

And I found the Polish product again:

Extreme Sample Converter: http://wlodekk.and.pl/

A final word about software & prices. Maybe I'm a sort of "Cheapskate", and some people don't understand me. But I always look very carefully what I *exactly* need and what it will cost. E.g. I would need only a fraction of the possibilities Cubase SX offers - and so I'm not willing to spend ca. EUR 500,- for this product, although I'm sure it's worth the price! I started with Cubasis VST and went over to Tracktion some weeks ago. That's the league a hobbyist like me plays.

Are there any news on the special offer or did i miss it?

Thank you,

CM included the demo of Awave Studio on their CD-ROM ages ago, and FMJ offered a limited-time discount while the mag was current. The special offer closed a long time ago - after all, this post originally dates from April.

The good news is that Extreme Sample Convertor will be supporting DS404 format in the next version - hopefully we'll be able to persuade the publishers to do a deal too.

:x What? I registered my copy of DS-404 as soon as Muon started the patch area (that was january) and i can't remember FMJ offered me (or Muon mailed me about) a discount on Awave - i would have taken that! So you had my eMail address back in april or whenever this offer was started. The only place i've heard of a special offer was THIS thread announcing an upcoming special offer. I just went through the issues 57-64 of CM and i can't find a word about it.
I also just checked the older news on fmjsoft.com and moun-software.com and again there's not a single word of a special offer on Awave. I did a search on awave in all KVR forums and none of the headers in the search result says a single word of the above mentioned deal.

This is weird shit and i wonder if anybody else was able to take advantage of that special offer.

I know this is outdated, but could you please tell me HOW and WHEN customers were notified of the deal.

Thank you,
skygge

First of all, KVR also published it in a news item on April 4th:-
http://www.kvr-vst.com/news/956.html

Then, customers were notified in a mail sent out on April 15th. It was sent to everyone in the patch area database at the time except those who checked the privacy box (they only receive password mails). The deal was also publicised in Computer Music magazine at the same time.

The text of the email was as follows:

Find out more about Awave's capabilities at http://www.fmjsoft.com/awavestudio.html

Also, because you are a valuable registered DS404 user you can get a special discount on your purchase - but hurry, the offer will end on April 18th 2003. To claim your special discount visit http://www.fmjsoft.com/awaveandmuon.html and purchase Awave today!

Yeah right, but that's only a demo...

That sentence cleared things up. I never got that mail, because i must have ticked that privacy box in the registration form i guess. I'll send a mail to service[at]muon-software[dot]com to get the registration thing sorted later.

Thanks for your patience with me!
