That's interesting. Why? You'd think they don't give a flying fart, since their bottom line is sales. Unless... ilok and RTAS sell more.
RTAS is definitely requested by retails. But I *think* iLok is requested as well. Because anyone who enters retail with plug-ins has iLok or Syncrosoft. I.e. no serial numbers while iLok is cracked as successfully as serial numbers protections get cracked. So, this leads me to think iLok is tightly connected with retailers - it won't be a surprise if iLok's owners are 'bugging' (or 'just' asking) retailers to support them.

RTAS and iLok may not necessarily sell more - that can be a part of marketing 'we're in the pro league' hype.

RTAS certainly sells more to the Guitar Center set.

That store really pushes Pro-Tools for some reason. Its annoying to have to hear the anti-everything-but-digidesign crap they spew.

In fact, when I have to go there, I pretend to have really poor english. That way they just leave me alone.

It wasn't sold even, according to FAQ. Licensing agreement. RND sells, EAS develops.

Damn back to quadruple the price-ish again, nice one - after dropping the price, straight back up again.

so this guy is a bit of an idiot right?

not only will people compare this price with EAS's original price

now they can compare it to Roger's own previous price of $249

all this price flip-flopping and mismanaged/mistimed announcements really inspire confidence

these guys better hope the iLok/RTAS/boxed-from-a-retailer crowd doesn't do their homework

why, oh why EAS?

surely you could have partnered with someone more competent in sales and marketing

Roger Nicholls IS Bruce Dickenson.
KVR - the many headed beast.

WTF?
I mean, seriously, how much did those nuclear engineer years f**k him up?
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

I guess if it was swallowed, we might be expecting a
$475 'burp-a-lizer' soon? 8)

Back for plug development in Sonic Birth.

I find it hard to believe that EA couldn't find a more suitable partner/ buyer.

To funnel all their future releases through this guy shows that the money must be amazing.

Maybe you'll see alot of the guys at EA leave and start a new company when they realise what a burk is representing their hard work.
