Ok, so most of us who frequent these digs are avid, some would say rabid esoundz customers.
So I'd like to see our favorite online retailer offer up stuff that isn't IK or SR. I would rather give my money to esoundz than <insert retailer here> for my plugs or sound libraries.
So although I'm sure you've been asked this a hunnert times Squids....any chance of that happening?

YES! I was thinking the same thing. I've got a ton of things on my studio wish list that I'm sure I would already own if you guys sold it.
Do it! Do it! Do it!

I gather you guys mean apart from the Arturia stuff that's been available for a while? If so, +1 here as well.
There was talk of this quite a while back, with Squids floating the possibility of bundling special Sonic Reality presets to make up for the inability to provide discounts on non-SR/IK products. Just imagine - CS80v with a bonus disc of Squidsy goodness
There was even the possibility of stocking hardware, but I noticed the hardware tab disappeared off esoundz quite a long time ago.
Any chance of this being resurrected, Squids?

Yes, this is happening in a limited and focused way. Starting from sounds as a core and working out from there. So, one of the things we will likely carry are more of the samplers that we support. Reason, HALion, Kontakt, Battery etc. and yes since we can't sell it cheaper than other retailers what we CAN do is bundle it with sounds and other goodies. We're self-financed so we have to take things in steps. The more people buy on esoundz the more we can do! But, we also have some interactive things (like epointz) where you guys can get involved and rewarded as well. That's always interesting because esoundz can become what you make of it from the outside. The good thing is that WE are dedicated to improvement. So we're always reinvesting, reinventing and pushing it toward being the best it can be. In fact, if you knew the BIG picture plan you might surprised at just how far we want to take it... if it all came to light it would be really amazing for everybody. But, it depends on our success to be able to support it. The ideas are one thing, being able to do it is another. Time has to be split amongst priorities etc.
Anyway, off on a tangent there, here is some news ahead of time for you. Since we already carry Arturia we have extended that to include Steinberg products as well because it is purchased from the same source. We'll be carrying HALion, HALion Player, Cubase (all versions including the upgrades), Nuendo and a few select plug-ins but we're only picking things we like and recommend. So, we may not sell some of the sample-based plug-ins from them unless it is something unusual (like X-Phrase maybe or something like that). What we don't want to do is have a lot of filler products that don't sell on there. We've done that before and it just clogs things up. That is what every OTHER on line retailer suffers from: the EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING factor. That just means it is harder to find the really really cool stuff sometimes. So, we're going to keep it potent and relevant whenever possible.
However, we will also carry various synths and effect plug-ins too (and the goal is to provide extra content like patches although we're behind on that... when we do it will be available to you though such as CS80 patches.... which I may have Eddie Jobson do btw hehe, became friends with him recently). We'll carry some FXPansion stuff like BFD and the sound packs (including some we'll do) because we like them and their products. Maybe Cameleon because Ben is a bud and that product rocks as well (plus it would be cool to offer some unique sounds in addition to the samples we already have in his factory sound set... not sure if you all knew that or not).
Anyway, feel free to use this thread to list things you would like to see carried on www.esoundz.com We always listen.

Well, you've indicated that you're tight with the Propellerheads folks. And since you've turned me (and others) into REX junkies...I would love to be able to buy a copy of Recycle through Esoundz. Of course, that will just lead me further down the path of destruction and reckless purchasing of other Prop-heads stuff from you.Squids wrote:Anyway, feel free to use this thread to list things you would like to see carried on www.esoundz.com We always listen.
Esoundz carrying the Steinberg line also now makes it much easier for me to keep my Cubase studio tuned up...

Well this is good news indeed! So even though some have been mentioned, here's my wish list
Cubase upgrades
BFD
Kontakt
UAD
iZoptope (I think their stuff is complimentary to IK stuff and the bundle of Ozone/Spectron/Trash is what prompted me to start this thread.)
Audio Ease
Antares
...and I'd love for you to get Elemental Audio away from Roger Nichols
what a travesty...

I actually like that idea of downloable sounds you have up right now but I'd like to see new instruments and for more formats like halion, kontakt, etc.

That is in the works and also for SampleTank as well. But there is a major update coming for downloadable sounds very soon.TeleJuan wrote:I actually like that idea of downloable sounds you have up right now but I'd like to see new instruments and for more formats like halion, kontakt, etc.

You know Squids,,, I think what all of us who are so loyal to you realize is, that you are someone who we can trust. You've spent a lot of time building this good will, and I respect that. You listen to us, you argue with us, you put up with us, and give us your best perspective on everything. Keep up the good work, because what you're doing isn't easy!
What I like about eSoundz, is that it really IS a place where sound junkies can feel at home. It really IS like a club. I also think there's a great group of folks coming in here to the forum. I've been dealing with some things, so I haven't had time to post as much lately, but want to thank you for all the time you've spent making eSoundz such a cool place. If I want something and eSoundz has it,,, I'll buy it there!!

I don't have to THINK so much when I buy stuff from Esoundz. I know it's going to be the best deal going, and if I've got a question or a problem, they've got the best support you can get. Plus, Squids & Co. are real musicians. They use the stuff they sell, and if they recommend it, it's the real deal.

Thanks. I think the difference is that there's people behind it that really do care. Some companies are so big that all you can do is run up against a policy and some manager who supposedly has no power to do anything to help you. I hate that myself as a consumer. So, ideally, the place EARNS your business and tries to be sure you have the value you're looking for, the sounds/software/products you want etc. We do our best and good will is very important to us. It is even WEIRD to me that good will doesn't seem to be important to some retailers. Like for instance, my mailbox place which I just cancelled. The guy was arguing with me about something they were wrong about and I thought "Ok, I will take my business elsewhere". I wanted to say "don't you know the customer is always right?".
Anyway, thanks guys. We appreciate the loyalty. It keeps us going honestly. That core of customers who prefer to buy from esoundz.

I think it's because you guys treat customers the way you want to be treated, plain and simple. Really, such a simple concept and yet, so few companies doing it. It's probably the best marketing strategy you can have because 1 happy customer turns into 10.Squids wrote:So, ideally, the place EARNS your business and tries to be sure you have the value you're looking for, the sounds/software/products you want etc. We do our best and good will is very important to us.
If ANYONE ever said to me that eSoundz treated then unfairly I'd have to wonder what they were smokin'...
I'd actually pay more for something at eSoundz just because I would never, ever have to worry about my purchase. Call Elijah, and it all gets sorted out, period.
And so, I'd like to add Logic to my list
