you can download a pc version that includes a DX plugin. works well here. nice FX that can be chained any way you like, and uses no cpu that i can measure.

PLUS, you can use the code editor to write your own FX algorithms. :D

here is a quick sample of a CR78 beat run though a sweeping lopass, tube distortion, and phaser (all jesusonic internal fx):

btw: it's not a religious thing at all, so let's not spoil this with a bunch of arguing. there is a fair amount of 'tongue in cheek-ness' going on with the name. eg: CrucFX hardware unit, you have to see it :D :D :D

I tried this a while ago, but didn't find it did anything exceptionally different to make me want to use the mostly text interface.

Maybe I'll give it another go tonight.

The Jesusonic effects are also used in Reaper, which lets you use GUI controls to edit the parameters.

How can you not like a progam that installs "jesus.dll"?

yeah, i was kind of ho-hum when i first loaded it up a few months ago, but that was before i noticed it in my DX list. It's actually really easy to use. there isn't any typing to speak of, just cliking A to add an effect, arrow keys and enter to choose which one, and arrow keys to set the parameters. i found it nice and quick and really like the low cpu.

heheh

maybe it's down to the name. I just kind of like the name jesusonic. it makes me smile

but it does sound quite good to my ears. i am always looking for a 'better' distortion unit, and this one sounds nice to me.

I recently had an epiphany about how to get it to work and now I like it quite well in fact. Though I hope Justin will agree to code a live performance oriented template into Reaper and then all troubles will cease.

I'm not crazy about the name, but I like Jesusonic. I don't mind the interface.

Some of the effects are a little lackluster, but some are actually not bad. And it's cpu performance is quite stunning.

They are the included plugin set with REAPER.

I love the archaic interface - reminds me of my tracking days....

also love how the effects can be re-written inside it - thats really cool.

wish i knew how to write them tho...

Crap fx, semifunny name.

Post

the nice thing about it is if you think the fx stink - you can write your own...

With all the good VST freebies around, I don't have to.

I know this is a bit off topic, but I installed Reaper on my win98 machine and I can't get it to play. It stutters terribly with even just one wave file.

Is anyone using it with win 98?
