I keep starting more and more projects for an interesting free VST and never completely finishing any of them. I'd like to force myself to see one through, and wanted to set up a quasi-interesting poll so people could help me decide. It works like this: I've made a list showing excerpts of the current rough (very rough) GUI development for each plugin sans user controls. Most of them will be based on direct interaction with what's shown in the pictures here. They will all undergo a lot of changes and additions from their current states. To keep things tricky I will give no other information about any of them aside from the picture excerpts. They're all completely different in function. Just for kicks I want the poll to be based on having as little information as possible.

:-o :o

excellent! IMHO you should finish them all, we have far too few interactive experimental plugins!

I chose nr.1... can't wait :D

You know what would be interesting for number 3? If each colored/numbered dot represented a different VSTi. Obviously each VSTi "dot" would be given a different color/number.
Now you click on any dot and depending on which side/corner you move to within the octogon, it will play a specific note/chord specified by the user.
Each "dot" can be assigned to a cc so you can have multiple synths sounding simultaneously on the same chord or have them go every which way on different corners of the octogon to produce different sounds.

That would be the instrument version.
The effect version would do the same but each dot respresents an effect and the corners/sides of the octogon would be different envelopes set by the user.

It'd be cool IMO.

Anyhow, i voted for number 5 :hihi:

i voted number 5 but all of them look pretty interesting (as interesing as they can be with no further information than a screenshot) look forward to trying some/all of them.

Yup 5 for me also...

Looks like stuff going into stuff... I like stuff that does stuff to other stuff!!!

I voted three. Looks like there would be more control over stuff.

2,3 & 5 get my votes as the most intriguing, but if you have the time/energy, finishing them all would be the coolest. You could even combine a couple to reduce your number of choices.

i voted for 1, because it looks the strangest :D

Oh no! I've been thwarted! :hihi:
Actually, it'd probably end up being called "blob" if anything, I just don't have the physics down for more than 3 points yet

I hope no one hates me for it, but I've been developing these all in Max/MSP.
