hahahha i liked that remake. But then again the first time I heard it I wasnt exactly clear-minded and it was loud enough to kill small children.

I also liked the Marilyn Manson remake (until he starts screaming like an idiot)

Post

It is kinda ill that it's not labelled as a remix or remake though. As if they wrote anyhting about it beside changing a third of the lyrics.

Also the fact that the title is "SOS" as opposed to "S.O.S." probably says a lot about her.

Post

I think its absolute f**king horse shit. And its played every 10 minutes on the radio, which just adds insult to injury for me.

This is the dumbest load of kak I've heard since the Red Hot Chilli Peppers molested "Last Dance With Mary Jane" by Tom Petty and had the gall to call it "Dani California."
What???? Dani California and Last Dance with Mary Jane???

They are NOTHING alike.

Yeah, if you're f**king deaf then they're nothing alike.

Thank you Anthony - now pay your dues to Mr. Petty.

They're definitely alike. I don't buy into mash-ups that prove similarities (the Nickelback one drove me berserk with its illogical 'proof' that everyone just snapped right up) but in this case they are pretty damn close.

Just as close as Last Dance is to Waiting for the Sun, though. I reckon Anthony can pay Mr. Petty as soon as Mr. Petty pays the Jayhawks. And since there's nobody who holds copyright to traditional Irish ballads, I reckon the Jayhawks are safe. ;)

Prove to the general KVR-Public that Mr. Petty took it from the Jawhawks, and I'm game.

Sounds like too much work! You win. ;)

Incidentally, though, have you HEARD the song? I only ask because the Jayhawks only got a medium level of exposure, and almost none to any generation younger than mine.

Hell no.

That's why I wanted you to prove it. Like Johnny Cockran.

LOL what a stupid thread...

dunno what's the prob, the song ain't bad and would have survived even without the sample...as i think the original rihanna track is without it.

if u think sampling = kak then look at the funky disco house scene (daft punk,prydz...) u can start a thread on that too...

but well after doing threads on everyone's music because u think it's shit , it'll be time to look at yourself and see where you're at...and then do a thread on your own stuff lol

btw this vote is not even democratic as it offers no alternatives than giving votes to the topic starter's point of view...study democracy then bash the songs at will :)

Have fun :)

80's rule, and today's pop is mostly (c)rap. Great old songs butchered to death by talentless people and marketed to brainwashed (or brainless) youngsters :-o
