Sadly,Tunafish 1.5.1 doesn't work for me at all when using ASIO output.I can't get it to work with ASIO4ALL at all.
It seems it is just fixed to 16bit/44100Hz and the only modes I can use are 16bit/48kHz and 24bit/96kHz. Doesn't work with either of them.ASIO4ALL tries to work in 24bit,but the output is always unavailable in Tunafish.
I was hoping I could finally be able to use ReaRoute and connect it with REAPER,but unfortunately it's not possible
Also, with Audigy2/4 based cards and kX drivers,it's not possible to use the HQ output with ASIO4ALL,unlike Reaper which worked fine even with the early versions of it.

But in that case I'll have to add it to the to-do list.
Thanks for telling me!

LOTS actually! I think all the Audigys for example would only support 16/41 if you use those russian kx drivers.

Wow.. I didn't know that. Ok, I've added 48KHz support to the to-do list.Colonel Flashback wrote:LOTS actually! I think all the Audigys for example would only support 16/41 if you use those russian kx drivers.

Bram Bos,now here's a different kind of post:
10 things I don't like in Tunafish that makes using it a chore:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The window is not resizable or scalable by 2x. What if I use desktop resolutions such as 1280x1024,1600x1200 or higher resolutions (like 1920x1080 or higher)? It's unusable. You must use low 800x600 or 1024x768 to be able to do anything in Tunafish.
2. No ability to select multiple Piano Roll / Drum notes by dragging a selection box and then moving the whole selection to any part of the piano roll This is easy as selecting multiple files in Windows, why isn't this implemented yet?
3. There's no sound when you draw a note in the piano roll.It should play the note if you draw it.Audio feedback makes things much more easier.
4. The cursor should "stick" to the end of a piano roll note or change the appearance to a two-way arrow to ease the note length changing of notes. This is the biggest annoyance in Tunafish. Also, make the white draggable area of the notes twice as wide.
And,alternately, you could use middle-click dragging for note length changing.
5. When a VSTi mixer channel is in focus, and the VSTi instrument's window is open,if you go to the Mixer built-in effects to change some settings, you get interrupted because the VSTi window ALWAYS likes to steal the focus.Another one of the major annoyances in Tunafish.
6. When scrolling the piano roll with the vertical scrollbar, the notes are not moved when you scroll, only after releasing the scrollbar, unlike the horizontal scrollbar which works OK.Very annoying.
7. No ability to click on the keyboard in the piano roll to preview notes.
8. There should be an easy (one-note) chord mode that generates chords with single key presses.
9. No "Paint" tool to paste multiple notes.
10. No arpeggiator
This is essential as a built-in effect, especially newbies can't "live" without this effect in this "electronic age".
These are 10 most annoying/notable things that make Tunafish less attractive for even newbies. If you can address these issues,Tunafish will be loved by many
How about adding the Hammerhead with its' features integrated into Tunafish? Then it'll be loved even more

Thanks for those very helpful suggestions. I think I'm going to add a number of those things to the options menu. Some of your annoyances were actually other people's requests (such as the plugin window stealing the focus etc.).softsynth wrote:Bram Bos,now here's a different kind of post now:

If you hang on a couple of hours, I'll have 48KHz added to the options - it seems to be working here already, but I need to test it thouroughly. That was actually quite easy to implement.
Cheers,
Bram

You're right. But if you use the mousewheel to scroll, it updates alright. I'll add the update to the other scrollbar as well.softsynth wrote: 6. That's weird.. that should work (and does work over here)softsynth wrote: 7. No ability to click on the keyboard in the piano roll to preview notes.

Heh. I can't beat Justin. But then again.. I have a fulltime job taking up most of my time. I don't have a Winamp-fortune to live offsoftsynth wrote:That's pretty quick, reminds me of Justin and his releases of REAPER

Not the typing keyboard, but the on-screen mini-keyboard next to the piano roll. And it doesn't have any visual feedback when you click on the keys like there's in FLStudio or REAPER.
The typing keyboard works good and it sends notes correctly when in MIDI Record mode.Just that it's limited to 2 octaves only, unlike FL Studio. If there was an option to switch between octave ranges for it,it would be great.
What about a blue "Tuna-like" skin? The green one doesn't feel that "fishy"

Ok.. on my site is the 1.5.2 installer.softsynth wrote:*UPDATED 2x*brambos wrote:That's weird.. that should work (and does work over here)
Added:
- support for 48KHz
- Scrolling the pianoroll now updates the window immediately
- Option to keep those nasty VST windows down!
- A number of other pianoroll quirks are straightened out
- Some little bugs fixed
Let me know if the 48KHz option works for you.
It's still strange that you can't get the onscreen keyboard to work, because it should work!

Thanks for your reactivity, Bram, I'll test it again with my RME, and also with my other interface (EZbus), and I'll tell you more ASAP (I have also a fulltime job, five kids, music to write, and sadly addictions with music forums and a lotta vsti's).
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Hopefully the 48KHz option (and some other things I've changed) make ASIO more usable for you!
Cheers!
