Hello there,

I have a simple question. Everytime I open something(mixer, transport, etc)in cubase sx, My main window just suddenly minimizes and I have to maximize it again everytime. Is there any way to freeze this window?

How are you opening it? I've never seen that before.

It sounds like he created a windowset and saved it with a preset document so that whenever he opened that document, it arranged the windows accordingly. Change the windowset and solve the problem.

The project window normally goes to restore state size, when another window is opened.

The windows 'rules' only allow for one window to be maximized, so set the restore state of the project window as l;arge as possible, without mazimimizing it, then it will not change size when other windows are opened.

That sucks.... So there is no way I can "freeze" the project window and keep it maximized and minimize the rest?. Because even when I try to load up some vst effects/inst. it automatically minimizes.

There really is only one thing to do here: Like Bas said: do not maximize any windows, just pull the corner of the Project Window until it fills the screen (it occupies pretty much the same amount of space) and now all your windows will retain the exact same position forever. Easy.

lol.. no special reason, things seems to viewed better when its maximized, i guess. You are right. I dont know why its bugging me,Thanks for the reply everybody.

i have the same problem with max so i just make all the project files big. gets a tad annoying at first.

You know, I seem to recall way back when I first started using Neundo (v1.0), that I was pissed that you couldn't really use maximize. But trust me, you get used to it really quick. Now I can't imagine maximizing windows, it seems pointless to me; you'd just hide everything else!

You should get acquainted with the window layouts too. That's something that I still need to explore and use to its potential. Just think: save your window arrangements in any configuration, and switch between them instantly with Key Commands. Sweet.

You can solve the problem with a rightclick on top of the mixerframe and choosing 'always in foreground'

You know, that's true - but you'll have to do that with every single window (I don't think that's possible with the Audio Editor, for example) and they'll always block any other window.
