What Compressor is more suitable for vocal tracks, C1 or RComp ?

Post

Both sound great on vocals, it just comes down to preference. The RComp is maybe a little more retro or Opto than the C1. I think they both do job really well.

You will have considerably greater control using the C1 if you have a vocal that needs to be pinched or moderated in a certain range but does not necessarily require that range to be generally EQed. I probably still use the C1 more than any other software comp because of it's clean transparency and shaping potential. Often I will place the RCL after the C1 for a bit more texturing. The two work very well in series.

That sounds interesting I will give it a shot. ALthough since I am somewhat a minimilast I usually use the RComp. I simply just love this compressor. BUt yes either one will work great..

I love RenVox for it's simplicity and sound but due to another thread here mentioning C1 I started experimenting with it and now I have really grown to like it - Waves' RVox, RenComp and C1 are truely nice compressors.

Also, look at the C1 Comp-Gate Compressor - lots of flexibility - Try that one also if you are ready (I'm not yet). I understand this one appears to be a really good one.
